Wal-Mart is on Ebates and if you activate you will receive up to 7% Cash Back
Wal-Mart is on CouponCabin and if you activate you will receive 2% Cash Back plus 2% Bonus Cash
Wal-Mart can provide Savings Catcher to its customers who physically travel to a store and if that is the option you prefer you will no longer be able to use Ebates or Coupon Cabin for the Cash back amounts listed above due to the requirement that you pay with WalMart Pay and allow the transaction to automatically inform Savings Catcher of the transaction just completed. Right now I do some of each of the three above things, but at some point that is something that may change due to policy adjustments that may come along. I buy some of my groceries by ordering them online and driving to the store to pick them up on the outside of the building in the Grocery PickUp area. To pay for those items I use my Southwest Rewards Visa Credit Card which is compatible with Ebates and I have a system where I tell Ebates that the transaction occurred if Wal-Mart does not tell Ebates that the Transaction occurred by a certain number of days after the date of the transaction. Other groceries I walk in the store and buy and pay with Wal-Mart Pay because the Savings Catcher function in the past has been greater than the 1% of the total order of groceries and Savings Catcher is compatible with that batch of groceries. Ebates does not work with anything I have paid for using Wal-Mart Pay, I tried to track them for a months worth of activity and none were included in the final decision that Wal-Mart made with Ebates about how much I had coming in Ebates cash back. To physically go in the store and buy any non grocery items, I use my Southwest Rewards Visa Credit Card so Ebates will be compatible, even though I am sacrificing Savings Catcher on the items. I have rarely seen anything non grocery related be involved in a Savings Catcher instance. To insure that there is a Shopping Trip number to tie to the Southwest Rewards Visa Credit Card I have to open the Ebates App on my smartphone and click on the Wal-Mart store "Going Shopping" button before I finalize the transaction. I find that if I click the button when I arrive in the store I remember to do it better than when I do it while checking out. I like to do the self check out option when I am in the store so I can take my time and think carefully about the payment method needed for each thing in the cart. I have two bundles in one store trip in some cases. One is the items that will get a better than 1% cash back from Ebates if I use Savings Catcher instead, and the other is the items that will get a better than 1% cash back from Ebates if I use Ebates.
That means that if I go in the store I am expecting to always do better than 1%. If I drive to the side of the store and pick up the groceries there I am expecting to always get the 1% from Ebates for the Grocery category. Coupon Cabin does not pay cash back at all at Wal-Mart for Groceries, it is listed as a "0%" on the Coupon Cabin list of categories at Wal-Mart. In the process of discussing this information right now it occurs to me that I need to add an additional step to the grocery pick up ordering series of steps. I need to always order the groceries using an activated Ebates laptop computer session and then pay for the order. That way I do not have to do research and tell ebates to tell WalMart to find all the transactions numbers for the past several weeks and adjust my ebates account for the items purchased without activating ahead of time. It is really easy to do, I installed the Ebates free cash back shopping assistant on the top of the internet browser. The shopping session can begin after that is clicked and the pop up has gotten clicked that looks like this:
[Activate Up to 7% Cash Back]
Store Deals My Orders Get $$$
Activate before checkout to make sure you get Cash Back.
I have been telling everyone that in my opinion you will not get Cash Back on the same transaction if you activate both a Coupon Cabin and an Ebates shopping trip right before you pay. If anyone who is reading this opinion has a different opinion please share it with me in the comments below. This applies to all stores everywhere not just Wal-Mart.
The following is the complete batch of Wal-Mart text ads for the month of December 2018 in the Default Category. The expiration dates are spelled out on the line right after the link. I will try to vary the categories in the following months so my readers can get better informed about text ads in all the different Wal-Mart categories.
