There is only one guarantee for the Christian in this life—that your life is hidden with Christ and you have been given eternal protection as an adopted child and heir of God. This is a glory we will not fully understand until we are standing before God our Redeemer. Home at last. The Psalms remind us of this hope. Psalm 91 points to God as our eternal Refuge and no evil can take that away.

Simple Commitments That Can Change Everything – Beloved Women – March 18, 2020
READ: "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers…" (Acts 2:42 ESV)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: "It don't take all that", is a phrase my Granny would often use whenever someone was taking too long, or doing too much, or just being too much for her.
I tell myself that sometimes, especially when I find myself overwhelmed with all of the "good" things that I can pile onto an already overloaded plate.
Acts 2:42 gives us a brief glimpse into the rapidly growing early church. Peter had recently preached a gospel message where three thousand people trusted Christ.
They, in turn, did the following:
Simple, but life-changing. Committing to these three actions made a dual impact. Externally, it dictated how they viewed their possessions and cared for others. Internally, it created joyful and sincere hearts, characterized by praise.
Their simple commitment changed everything – and "it didn't take all that". |
