Dr. James White plays the role moderator in this one, rather than his usual incisive, critical debating form. The debate largely hinges on Sola Scriptura and, for some reason, the Protestants hold strongly to Calvinist theology alone. Apologia Studios: On March 4th we hosted a debate between two Christians (Daniel Constantino and Oscar Dunlap) and two Mormons (Jason Hansen and Hayden Carroll). Watch this incredible debate centered around the question of “What is our ultimate authority?”. Be sure to like, share, and comment on this video. How is it that such as a off-the-cuff, unreasoned statement like “Everybody knows…” can be so deflating and devastating to the evangelist and burgeoning apologist? Don’t let statements like that slide by and be accepted as truth. In the meantime, no telling how many millions of Americans—from childhood to adulthood—have lived their lives since then, having rejected Christianity based of such flimsy misinformation foisted upon them via the flawed beliefs of their mistaught teachers. Let’s do a third day-in-a-row of short clips concerning the nature and history of heaven. Here, Dr. Heiser says he’s not “Batman”, but excoriates Biblical scholars who declare that a third of the angels fell from heaven after battle as Biblical. Dr. Michael S. Heiser: Do we ever, through our tradition, take things out of context? I mean, we ignore context a lot, and sometimes our out-of-context stuff becomes doctrine. My favorite example is this one, «A third of the angels rebel.» You can easily find it if you just Google “a third of the angels rebellion” or something like that. You’re going to get stories about how Satan took a third of the angels with him before the fall or maybe before creation, or before this or that. Something primeval. Well, the problem is, there isn’t a single verse in Scripture that actually says that. Check this out!
