Proof that Yeshua is the Messiah!

SHALOM! "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!" (Matthew 23:39) Israel, for the most part, did not recognize the time of their visitation when Jesus came to earth. For much of church history Jewish people who believed in Jesus have been just a remnant. The Gospel instead went all around the world, according to God's purpose outlined in Romans 11, to share God's riches with the Gentiles. But we also know - as Jesus Himself prophesied - Israel will one day call out to welcome Him back to Jerusalem as the Messiah. We have seen tremendous numbers responding to Jesus over the last few years and we are passionate about reaching as many of our people as we can with the Good News! There is abundant evidence in the Hebrew Scriptures that Jesus is indeed the promised Messiah. Dr. Erez Soref, President of ONE FOR ISRAEL EXPLORING MESSIANIC PROPHECY WHO IS THE SERVANT? Searching the Scriptures for evidence The best commentary on Scripture is the Scriptures themselves. In order to refute the Messianic interpretation of Isaiah 53, Rashi (a famous Medieval rabbi) argued this passage was about the Jewish people who suffered on behalf of the nations. But the earliest interpretation of Isaiah 53 is already found in the book of Jeremiah. Based on the shared language, it's clear the prophet Jeremiah saw parallels between himself and the Servant of the Lord in terms of the murderous hatred which he suffered at the hands of his own people: "Moreover, the LORD made it known to me and I knew it; Then You showed me their deeds. But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; and I did not know that they had devised plots against me, saying, 'Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more'" (Jeremiah 11:18-19).  His identification with the Servant of the Lord is only partial, since Jeremiah did not come to redeem his people from their sins through his death, but his reference to this passage proves that Rashi's interpretation is incorrect. The Servant of the Lord has to be a rejected and hated person from among his people who will die for the people of Israel (and for the entire world)! "Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: 'He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he does not open his mouth. In humiliation his judgment was taken away; who will relate his generation? For his life is cut off from the earth.' The eunuch answered Philip and said, 'Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?' Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him" (Acts 8:32-35). Accordingly, there were certain clues the rabbis were looking out for. The Talmud describes a “Leper Messiah” in a story about how the Messiah would be found caring for lepers: “His name is ‘the leper scholar,’ as it is written, Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him a leper, smitten of God, and afflicted.”…“‘When will the Messiah come?’ — ‘Go and ask him himself,’ was his reply. ‘Where is he sitting?’ — ‘At the entrance.’ And by what sign may I recognise him?’ — ‘He is sitting among the poor lepers…'” (Sanhedrin 98a and 98b). The passage goes on to describe the Messiah carefully bandaging the wounds of lepers, instead of shunning them. CONTINUE READING...
