Her brother, Mark noticed her anxiety increased as she watched a movie he knew she'd seen several times. She squinted her eyes almost closed, anticipating the scene.   "Why are you nervous about this scene?" he asked. "You've seen this movie before, and you know exactly what's going to happen," he teased. As God's children, that's how it might seem sometimes for us. We know in the end we will reign with God victorious, but we still have moments when we worry about things, trying to anticipate and even control the outcomes for our own lives.   Romans 8:33-34 says, "If God says his chosen ones are acceptable to him, can anyone bring charges against them? Or can anyone condemn them? No indeed! Christ died and was raised to life, and now he is at God's right side, speaking to him for us."   If you've ever thought you aren't good enough for God, think about this: He gave His one and only son for you. If you had been the only one in the whole world, you would have been worth the exchange. You matter to God. He would never withhold the gift of salvation from you. If Christ gave His life for you, He isn't going to turn around and condemn you. You have no reason to worry about how it all ends. You can let go of worry and trust Him. Today's One Thing The book of Romans is a personal letter to you that outlines God's redeeming grace. This week open this letter and read it as an invitation to you to receive His comfort and confidence. Take time to be with God today! *View this email in your browser For the Israelites walked forty years in the wilderness till all who were men of war who came out of Egypt perished, because they did not hearken to the voice of the Lord; to them the Lord swore that He would not let them see the land which the Lord swore to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey. ─ Joshua 5:6 AMPC Stop Going in Circles How do you know if you've made spiritual progress this year? Moses recorded the Israelites' journeys at God's instruction to provide a record of their spiritual and geographical progress (Numbers 33:2). What could have been a two-week journey to the promised land became a generation of walking in circles (Deuteronomy 1:2). God brought them out of Egypt and miraculously opened up the Red Sea. He set a path before them and led them right up to the land He promised to give them. His instructions were clear, but the people let fear become a barrier to receiving what God had promised. When they heard the report of giants in the land their fear of what the giants might do overshadowed their faith in God and what He said He would do.   Joshua 5:6 says, "For the Israelites walked forty years in the wilderness till all who were men of war who came out of Egypt perished, because they did not hearken to the voice of the Lord; to them the Lord swore that He would not let them see the land which the Lord swore to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.   Where are you on your spiritual journey? Have you spent a portion of your time living in the desert, in partial obedience to the Lord?   If so, it's time to stop walking in circles, continuing to struggle with the same issues over and over. God truly desires for you to take Him at His Word and prove Him faithful. It is time to face your giants head on. Step into your promised land by the power of the Spirit and expect to win. Today's One Thing When was the last time God gave you clear instruction? Look back over our spiritual journey and consider where God has brought you.
