Hey guys,
We will continue the application of Galatians this week. Read Gal 3 & 4.
After you read these chapters, review the following verses to highlight
Paul’s message to the Galatians. What is he revealing to the
Galatians in these verses? A basic course in the law sonship Gods will, Gods Grace Redemption Transformation

Gal 3:19
Galatians 3:19
& Gal 3:24,
Galatians 3:24
24 Therefore the Law has become our atutor to lead us to Christ, so that bwe may be justified by faith
why did God provide the Law? See Gal 3:24 above, To lead us to Christ so that we may be justified by faith
Gal 3:26
Galatians 3:26
26 For you are all asons of God through faith in bChrist Jesus.

Now, go back and read
Gal 3:23,
Galatians 3:23
23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, abeing shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed.
Where does our faith come from?
God reveals it later, after we were kept in custody under the law
Think in terms of the following hierarchy;
God’s Will
God’s Grace then,
Redemption/Transformation
How do our actions apply to this process? We respond because we have the Spirit of His Son in our hearts crying Abba Father
Gal 4:6-7
Galatians 4:6–7
6 Because you are sons, aGod has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “bAbba! Father!”

Gal 4:8-9
8 However at that time, awhen you did not know God, you were bslaves to cthose which by nature are no gods.
9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be aknown by God, bhow is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless 1celemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?

and what does that make us? people who desire to be enslaved all over again
How does Gal 4:8-9
There is a huge difference between being ignorant of God and slaves and being sons of God
compare to Gal 3:26?
Galatians 3:26
26 For you are all asons of God through faith in bChrist Jesus.

Galatians 4:16
16 So have I become your enemy aby 1telling you the truth?
a | |

Or dealing truthfully with you
|
– Do we have an enemy in truth? see next line below
or is Paul our enemy by dealing truthfully with us? Let the reader answer based on his or her theological understanding of truth and of being dealt with truthfully. In my case the answer is no.
How important is understanding
God’s truth for our lives? What should we do with truth? For ourselves and for others?
Finally, review Gal 4:21-31
Galatians 4:21–31
Bond and Free
21 Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not alisten to the law?
23 But athe son by the bondwoman 1was born according to the flesh, and bthe son by the free woman through the promise.
24 1aThis is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from bMount Sinai bearing children 2who are to be cslaves; 3she is Hagar.
25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
“aRejoice, barren woman who does not bear;
Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor;
For more numerous are the children of the desolate
Than of the one who has a husband.”
29 But as at that time ahe who was born according to the flesh bpersecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, cso it is now also.
“aCast out the bondwoman and her son,
For bthe son of the bondwoman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman.”
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of a bondwoman, 1but of the free woman.

and we’ll use the example to help understand
works and faith in application to the discussion above. Also, reflect on our
discussion of King Saul…..how does his life apply?
Take your time reflecting on the story of Hagar Mount Sinai
and Sarah Mount Zion
, write down your
thoughts on similarities and differences….bring them with you for discussion.
30 But what does the Scripture say?
“aCast out the bondwoman and her son,

See you guys on Tuesday!
Grace and peace to you!
