Throughout life, the path might grow dark, overgrown with trees, or the path may not immediately be evident. That's why Your Heavenly Father directs you to continually look to Him for the roadmap for your life. When you experience a season of uncertainty or difficult decisions, you can trust Him to show you the way to go. He makes the path known to you; and His presence goes with you (Acts 2:28). You may not recognize or feel Him leading the way, but then "your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left" (Isaiah 30:21).
Today's One Thing
Take time today to encourage yourself in God's Word, and His promise to guide you with these verses:
- Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:1-2 ESV).
- You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence (Acts 2:28 ESV).
- Thus says the Lord: "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls (Jeremiah 6:16 ESV).
- But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster. Deuteronomy 30:14-15 ESV).
