Jesus Christ is alive and living in the hearts and lives of billions of Christians. I am interested in what He is saying and doing in the lives of those who know and love Him and interested in being a familiar and trusted blogger about Him

For an individual seeking a deeper walk of faith, especially persons at critical junctures of transition (i.e. career change, graduation, etc.) The resource serves nicely for a short term small group study and would also be well suited for a short term congregational study series.
Called
From Darkness to Light
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the
earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the
deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God
said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. GENESIS 1:1–3
And so it began. The story of Creation and the plot of Redemption masterfully
narrate us into the epic movement from darkness to light.
The bedtime rituals at our home, on good nights, close out with exuberant,
raucous worship. One memory stands out from a few years back. We were singing
and dancing to my friend David Crowder’s rendition of I Saw the Light. You may
recognize it as the work of the late great gospel theologian, Hank Williams Sr.
I saw the Light. I saw the Light.
No more darkness. No more night.
Now I’m so happy, no trouble in sight.
Praise the Lord! I saw the Light!
Can you see it? I Saw the Light blaring, the Lord Jesus Christ shining, and
five of us jubilantly dancing. (This was the BS period—before our son Sam—
we had a five-year-old, three-year-old, and twenty-month-old.) In the midst
of that irrational exuberance I began to point to a large painting of Jesus on
the wall.
You see, I’m trying to teach my children to worship, but in the moment about
to unfold, everything would change. I became the student, and my children
the teachers. David (five) danced over to the table and picked up an empty
Communion chalice. He got my attention as he lifted it over his head, turned
it upside down, and began to dance with unbridled joy. Mary Kathryn (three),
not to be outdone, ran over to the window and grabbed a wooden cross she
and David had hammered together, lifted it into the air over her head, and
continued her dance. Now Lily (twenty months), who will not be outdone, ran
over to the massive painting of Jesus crucified and rocketed both of her hands
upward as though to signal a touchdown and she just stood still there, seemingly
“This little book packs a big punch. It is a biblically faithful and relentlessly helpful manual for living out the radically countercultural Christian life in the modern world! It charts a course of scriptural holiness in a broken world and positions you and me to be hilariously fruitful for Christ and His kingdom.”
If you are wondering where the pages that contained the words "excerpt", "Introducing" or other words indicating I was quoting a book have all gone, I migrated all of them over to Posts and Posted them all on August 18 and August 19 2024. I did that so you could use the search widget that is built in to the blog on the upper right hand corner. You will be happy to know that there are more of them than just the batch that were migrated, there were also lots of posts that contained the same words that did not have to be migrated over, they were there all along. I am really enjoying doing introductions and excerpts because it really makes for powerful and fascinating reading when I do them. You get the feeling you are in a bookstore holding a book in your hand looking at the table of contents and deciding whether or not to buy the book.

The following request applies to any of the christian ministries that are currently getting visitors from my blog:
I am currently blogging: https://webmaster220.blogspot.com I would like to place a banner on the right side of my home page that promotes your ministry If I do that and it helps your ministry grow and expand do you have a suggestion as to what type of commission or contribution could be paid to my ministry. The reason I am saying that is there are a lot of ministries out there that are buying advertising space online and yours could be one of them for all I know. I have been an affiliate marketer for years on my blog but no commissions have ever been earned even though I am doing everything required to be done to earn the commissions. My blog readers are just not interested in spending any money on any of the goods or services discussed in my banner ads and text links. To reply, use the contact form below this paragraph Thanks, Rick Livermore - Webmaster220
