Renew Your MindBy Tia McCollors Sisters in Faith And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. – Romans 12:2 We renew our driver's licenses, our professional certifications, gym memberships, passports, and magazine subscriptions. We do these things to keep privileges and jobs, to keep fit, experience new places, and to stay current with society. But what about our minds? The battlefield that houses so many of our thoughts is in need of constant renewal. To renew our minds means to put off our own thoughts, and replace them with God's thoughts. We throw out our old and expired way of thinking and take on God's way of thinking. Based on Proverbs 23:7, our thoughts are so important that they determine who we become. Who will you be and how will you live? Think about it. Practical Application: How can I see this circumstance from God's perspective? Renewing our minds is a constant process. We can renew our mind by staying rooted in God's word. Psalms 1:1-3 says that when we meditate on His word, everything we do will prosper. Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to be full of Your power. I want to understand Your will for my life. As I renew my mind, take these old thoughts of mine and give me Your thoughts. I'll meditate on the things that are pure, true, noble, and praiseworthy. I will keep my mind stayed on You. Tia McCollors is a wife and mother who loves to encourage women to wear their faith like a designer label.
