Dear Friends, There is a growing movement for the vision of bringing the gospel to all unreached in the year 2033. The significance of 2033 is that it is the 2,000th anniversary of Pentecost. I am not much for setting dates like these, but the movement intrigues and excites me. If we want to fulfill the Great Commission, we have to have a plan to reach every nation, every tribe, every people group. Doing so has three major challenges:
- Languages
- Literacy
- Hostility
It is easy to launch a new ministry outreach in America or other nations with religious freedom, a common written language and a high literacy rate. However, according to our friends at Faith Comes by Hearing, 70% of the world's population are oral learners, 50% cannot read at a functional level and thousands of language groups do not have a written translation of Scripture. When I started the iBIBLE I was unaware of the 2033 movement to complete the Great Commission, and I quickly realized the critical role iBIBLE could play in accomplishing the ambitious goals. iBIBLE can help overcome each of the three major challenges.
- Overcoming Language Barriers: iBIBLE is the first outreach of its kind to offer open source translation. What does this mean? Any approved and qualified translator can translate the iBIBLE into any language without payment or licensing issues and right from their iPhone or Android device. For the first time, we can access any of the world's 7,000+ living languages without restrictions. We are already in the process of recruiting qualified translators.
- Overcoming Literacy Barriers: every page of iBIBLE is animated in full color and includes dramatic audio. While iBIBLE includes the full text, we can reach the illiterate, functionally illiterate and oral learners with dramatic sight and sound.
- Overcoming Religious Hostility: A print Bible can bring severe persecution. And once confiscated, it cannot be easily replaced. iBIBLE will exist on the internet and can easily be downloaded, over and over, safely and secretly on any smart phone in the world.
