A pastor recently commented on my YouTube channel that pastors don't need to learn Greek.

Initially, I decided to let the comment go, but then I thought more about what they said.

They have a good point.

It is hard to argue that a pastor needs to know Greek when seminaries are rapidly dumping their language courses.

But perhaps this says more about the students they are trying to attract than about whether pastors actually need to know the languages.

Have we lowered our expectations for pastors?
