What doctrines are really important?

With so many different views, how can we know whether we trust an author? Can we be united as a church?  I believe we can, but the answer is in holding character above conviction, while also allowing our convictions to be be challenged and filled out. So how can we hold the tension between conviction and unity?  In this video, I want to briefly share some helpful principles (and a quick lesson from the Greek text) from a wonderful book.
