I remember five years ago when I got the news that a U.S. pastor was in jail and facing a 35-year sentence in a Turkish prison.
Open Doors began to follow Andrew Brunson’s journey, sharing about each court hearing, each delayed verdict, each time he testified for the gospel.
And as we reported one update after another, you prayed.
You rejoiced with us when he was released on October 12, 2018, and 24 hours later was back in the United States. Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Andrew and his wife Norine to hear about those two years in prison and why they say their ordeal was so much bigger than their own stories.
I know you’ll be encouraged—and challenged—by what they had to say.
As I talked to Andrew and Norine, the impact of prayers from the Body of Christ was so evident. They both talked about how knowing many were praying strengthened them—and gave them purpose.
“I came to see that God was doing something much bigger with that movement of prayer than just sustaining me and then delivering me from prison,” Andrew says.
Next week, November 7, is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Throughout the world, God’s people will be joining their hearts and voices for our brothers and sisters who are suffering for their faith.
Just like we did as we prayed thousands of prayers for the Brunson family.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes today to read the interview and then make plans to join us for this global movement of prayer. Thank you for being part of the Brunsons' story—and praying with our persecuted sisters and brothers around the world!
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people (James 5:16).

The following request applies to any of the christian ministries that are currently getting visitors from my blog:
I am currently blogging: https://webmaster220.blogspot.com I would like to place a banner on the right side of my home page that promotes your ministry If I do that and it helps your ministry grow and expand do you have a suggestion as to what type of commission or contribution could be paid to my ministry. The reason I am saying that is there are a lot of ministries out there that are buying advertising space online and yours could be one of them for all I know. I have been an affiliate marketer for years on my blog but no commissions have ever been earned even though I am doing everything required to be done to earn the commissions. My blog readers are just not interested in spending any money on any of the goods or services discussed in my banner ads and text links. To reply, use the contact form below this paragraph Thanks, Rick Livermore - Webmaster220
