Safe and Secure By Billy Graham • September 29 “He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” —Hebrews 5:9, NKJV With the exception of Jesus, no one in the Bible probably endured more scorn than Noah. Told to build an ark to escape God’s judgment, we read that “Noah did; according to all that God commanded him” (Genesis 6:22). Can you imagine what his neighbors said? Can you picture them shaking their heads and laughing, calling him a fool and murmuring he must be out of his mind? Can you envision them angrily rejecting his warnings of coming judgment and returning to their idolatrous ways (for 2 Peter 2:5 calls Noah “a preacher of righteousness”)? But when the flood came, only Noah and his family were saved. For those who scorned his pleas, it was too late. You and I are called to proclaim a message that often seems foolishness to an unbelieving world—the message of the Cross. Will everyone accept it? No. Will some mock us? Yes. But never stop sharing the gospel, for it is still “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16, NIV). Hope for Today Is there someone you’ve neglected to share your faith with because you feared their response? If you care about them at all, you will risk it. Great will be your reward in Heaven (Matthew 5:12). | ||
