Elim Bible Institute: the school was listed as one of the schools that Bob Mumford taught at.

In 1963, I took a position as Professor of New Testament and Missions at Elim Bible Institute in New York. I was the Dean and was given a classroom with nine blackboards, several on each wall of the classroom. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Besides teaching a full schedule at Elim, I was out almost every weekend ministering at other churches to enable us to

survive financially. Our salary was $100 per month, plus food in the cafeteria, housing, and utilities. With three children, it was a very exciting time.
As Dean, I was required to explain the rules. I began listing all of the social rules, dating rules, dress rules, etc. for the new school year sequentially on the blackboard. Having been trained at Eastern Bible College I was like a drill sergeant. There were 21 “there shall be no…” rules. The students started calling me “Beno” that year because I had so many rules. There were about 40 students in the room and as I was reading off the rules, one of the students asked, “Mr. Mumford, how many rules do you have?”
I answered, “Twenty one.”
He said, “Even God only had ten!”
All of us know how to get around the law. We know how to slip and slide. What God’s people need is an understanding of the passive righteousness that

allows the Kingdom to come changing our behavior from within, not from without.
These early years were some of the most difficult of times financially, physically, and spiritually, yet the lessons learned were invaluable. We read the stories of men like Joseph, Daniel, or Jeremiah in their preparation for ministry, forgetting that these are examples for those of us who were yet to come. Every man and woman whom God has used has similar stories of living through difficulties. My intent is to exercise caution that we do not just learn the story and end up missing the lesson. If you want to quit, God gives us every opportunity to do so. It was at this very point in our lives that we were aware that God had indeed tested and approved us to carry His truth and love to the larger body of Christ.

While teaching at Elim Bible Institute, doors began to open with the Full Gospel Businessmen group allowing me to teach on the renewal in denominational churches. I remember teaching 37 seminars on the baptism on the Holy Spirit in two weeks throughout New England."--Bob Mumford Feed My Sheep 60 Years in Ministry [1]
