In honor of National Missing Children's Day this year, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is releasing a dynamic new feature for the Runaway Train 25 music video campaign that will help families find more missing kids. Twenty-six years ago, Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train" music video featured images of missing children— 21 kids were recovered thanks to that creative campaign. Last year we launched Runaway Train 25, a re-imagining of the hit song with technology that displayed missing children from the geographic location of the viewer. More than 20 missing children have been found with help from the new video and we have seen a huge boost in our fight to help find missing children with an increase of 60% in leads on our cases. The second phase of Runaway Train 25, which we are releasing today, allows our families to create personalized music videos with the image of their own missing child. This technology empowers families to create and share a customized version of the Runaway Train video with family and friends through social media and traditional media as a way to focus more attention and viewership on their child's case. We encourage everyone to create and share a Runaway Train music video today. At NCMEC we know that a small tip can have a big impact on a child's life—so please help us in our efforts to reunite missing children with their families this National Missing Children's Day—and every day.
At NCMEC we are dedicated to doing everything imaginable to help the families of missing children be reunited. Enjoy this music video and share it with as many people as you can. Your simple act of passing along this video may be the reason a missing child is able to come home to their family.
Stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Your Friends at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
