As for Me and My House By SermonSearch Staff Joshua 24:1-15 is a powerful passage where Joshua recounts the Israelites' history retelling the miraculous events of how God's hand has been in their lives for generations. After the retelling of the historical events, there is an amazing verse where Joshua calls for the Israelites to choose whom they will serve. Joshua 14-15 says, "14 "Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (ESV). Joshua makes the declaration that while he can't speak for everyone, he and his house will serve the Lord. That is a powerful statement.
