There is a universal feeling that most of us have, including those in our churches: we all want our lives to count. In this sermon by Robert Dawson called, Making Your Days Count, we will find out how. Here's how Robert introduces this sermon:
I was listening to a song by Jason Crabb and the chorus of the song caught my attention. The song, especially the chorus, points to what makes us or defines us as a person. Often we think what defines us are the great big things - the impressive things - of life. We are convinced that to be somebody we need to accomplish some great feat or display an extraordinary faith, that we somehow need to walk on water. In the chorus the song says...
1. It's the path you take - the steps you make - that make you who you are 2. It's the life you live - the gifts you give - the love that's in your heart 3. You don't have to walk on water - It's how you walk on land
The way that we live and approach each day is important - not just some of them but all of them.
We think of some days as being more important or significant than others because of the opportunities that we believe are coming or the events written on our calendar. Every day is a big day - every day is an important day. Every day...
1. Presents an opportunity to know God and to serve God 2. Presents an opportunity to influence, impact and help someone else 3. Is important because there will never be another day like this day.
Every day, each day is important because our days are few - they are limited and numbered.
