People Who Are at Increased Risk for Severe Illness

Everyone is at risk for getting COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus, but some people are more likely to become severely ill, which means they may require hospitalization, intensive care, a ventilator, or they may even die. Among adults, the risk for severe illness from COVID-19 increases with age, with older adults at highest risk. People of any age with certain underlying medical conditions are also at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. More Info
