Giver of Good Gifts
This content is drawn from: John 2:1-12
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11
One morning, I went fishing in a row boat with a friend and his father. We baited our hooks and leaned the poles against the side of the boat before dropping our lines in the water. One eager fish jumped out of the water, grabbed the bait, and plunged back in, pulling the tackle, pole, and reel after it. We watched as the pole sank into the depths of the sea. That rig carried sentimental (and monetary) value for my friend’s dad who was crestfallen by its loss.
Later after catching several large fish, we headed back to the dock. My friend began reeling in his line, though it seemed quite heavy. As it rose from the depths, the outline of the lost fishing pole materialized. We were all so shocked that we nearly tipped the boat, leaning over to see this incredible catch!
Some would call this a miracle; some would say it was luck. I know that God showed His love for His children in a way only He can. He loves to give us good gifts, which is why He has given us the gift greater than all: eternal life through Jesus.
By focusing on the Giver rather than the gifts, we appreciate the motive rather than the desire and draw closer to God.

The following request applies to any of the christian ministries that are currently getting visitors from my blog:
I am currently blogging: https://webmaster220.blogspot.com I would like to place a banner on the right side of my home page that promotes your ministry If I do that and it helps your ministry grow and expand do you have a suggestion as to what type of commission or contribution could be paid to my ministry. The reason I am saying that is there are a lot of ministries out there that are buying advertising space online and yours could be one of them for all I know. I have been an affiliate marketer for years on my blog but no commissions have ever been earned even though I am doing everything required to be done to earn the commissions. My blog readers are just not interested in spending any money on any of the goods or services discussed in my banner ads and text links. To reply, use the contact form below this paragraph Thanks, Rick Livermore - Webmaster220
