Faith Nourished “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 Over the years, I’ve met many people who wrestle with the question, What is my purpose in life? Probably each one of us has wondered the same at one time or another. Lists of tips, books, articles, and seminars offer a myriad of different answers to the question. Thankfully, the Bible gives the definitive answer. According to Revelation 4:11, we were created for God’s pleasure, that He might receive the glory and honor due to His name. When fulfilling God’s perfect purpose for our lives, we experience the joy and peace that He intended for us. But how do we know if we are pleasing God? Hebrews 11:6 advises that the way to fulfill this chief purpose in life is through faith in Christ. Believe in Him! Faith is a gift from God, and His Word is the instrument by which He brings it about. “…Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). When we earnestly seek God through His Word and prayer, faith is built and nourished, and the Author of our faith is pleased!
