God Has A Track RecordBy Tia McCollors Sisters in Faith But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 15:57 We often judge people by their character and the attributes they consistently exhibit, and rightly so. We decide if we believe their words based on their past actions. We determine our relationships with them based on their faithfulness as a friend, in good and bad times. God, too, has a track record in our lives. He's held true to His promises, has performed miracles in our lives, and has accomplished more than our finite minds can conceive. Periods of trial and tribulation try to rob us of our trust in an Almighty God. The Bible tells us that worrying doesn't add a single hour to our life (Matthew 6:27), weighs down our spirit (Proverbs 12:25), and is actually the opposite of trusting God (Matthew 6:30). We should think back on God's track record in our lives. Most assuredly we have emerged victorious! With God, we always win. Practical Application: Writing is a way to relieve our minds from the stresses of worry. It's cathartic. Write down your worries as a way to acknowledge them. Next, throw them away. You don't have to dwell on them because you can cast them on the Lord. Instead of carrying the worries around, carry around a list of scriptures to keep you uplifted. Prayer: Heavenly Father, Your word says in Psalms 138:8 that You will perfect everything that concerns me. I'll cast my cares on You because You care for me. If You take care of the birds, who am I? I'm the righteous, and believe that You'll never forsake me. Tia McCollors is a wife and mother who loves to encourage women to wear their faith like a designer label.
