Too Marvelous for Words “God comes in awesome majesty. The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.” Job 37:22-23 “Though the power of expression often disappoints us, though words and languages fail, we praise you, Lord, with this song of adoration: ‘You are beautiful beyond description/ Too marvelous for words/ Too wonderful for comprehension/ Like nothing ever seen or heard./ Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?/ Who can fathom the depths of Your love?/ You are beautiful beyond description,/ Majesty enthroned above!’ “We thank you for the gift of gratitude that enables us to live joyfully and peacefully though struggles continue. Let our gratitude give good reason for new believers to worship you. Help us befriend them and make them feel at home, and in a small way learn to love our neighbors as ourselves. “Our hearts go out to the sons and daughters who heard the Word of God when they were young, but now have drifted from the faith they once professed. Lord, draw them to yourself. You were the One who first began a good work in them and are able to carry it on, making even the most unfavorable times work together for good.” SF: Job 37:14-24 Insight: Many songs (like the one noted above by Mark Altrogge, 1986) can be sung as prayers. Through them you can talk with Jesus all day! BIAY: Jeremiah 47:1-48:47 Psalm 125:1-5 2 Corinthians 4:1-5:21 |
