Prophecy Thread of Week 29Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary Definition of Truth: Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies. THE CHURCH TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL TO THE GENTILESPaul called the born again experience a 'new creation' in Christ (2Co 5:17). With this experience comes the mission Jesus commissioned to the Church: to spread the gospel to all the nations. This prophecy was quoted by Paul giving the scriptural witness to the doctrine. PROMISED DAVID'S SONG OF PRAISE 1044 BC (U) 2Sa 22:50 Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name. THE GREAT COMMISSION 33 AD, 33 AD (U) Mat 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20a and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. FULFILLED THE GOSPEL SPREADS TO GENTILES 41 AD (U) Act 11:18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life." THE COUNCIL AT JERUSALEM 52 AD (U) Act 15:3 The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad. Act 15:7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. Act 15:8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. PAUL MINISTERS TO THE GENTILES 60 AD (U) Rom 15:9 and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy.
