I have no idea what happened to my pageviews on blogger.com in December 2020
I suggest that you deduct the spike entirely because it did not happen in sync with the pageview record in clustermaps. I did not begin using clustermaps on the first day that I began using blogger so it has not kept up but as of today the spike in pageviews that you need to deduct is as follows almost all the pageviews
from 12/8/2020 with 4669 views,
from 12/9/2020 with 44,227 views,
and from 12/10/2020 with 5531 views
total 54,000 from Hong Kong
That would leave the Blogger pageviews in the ballpark with the Clustermaps pageviews
No particular post or page was viewed thousands of times to help explain this spike.
The customer support chat session I opened was ended without any additional information than this which I wrote in the above paragraph. Hong Kong was never a country which had visits to the blog before the spike and has not had visits to the blog after the spike
This is the report for the visitors that day that lived in Hong Kong
It went from 0 the day before to 54k the three days of the spike and back to 0 after that
