WHAT ARE WE STUDYING? The Book of Galatians is a passionate letter written by the apostle Paul explaining what it really looks like to be followers of Jesus Christ. Paul is adamant in his letter that the gospel is all we need to know and to live truly free – that Jesus is enough and nothing needs to be added. There is certain and specific freedom in receiving our acceptance in Christ and that freedom gives us authority, assignment, adoption, and restoration like nothing else!    Here's what you can expect... Session 1 - The Hidden Power of Acceptance When we understand that we are accepted and claimed by Christ, we can confidently walk in His authority. We don't have to conjure up self-confidence or recite man-made mantras. We can boldly stand on the authority of God alone and refuse to seek the acceptance of man, because we are fully embraced by Christ.   Session 2 - Your Life is Rich in Purpose When others get to see you live out God's assignment, it helps them live out God's assignment. If you're not investing in the life of another, you've undervalued your own life. When you give the Lord ownership of your life, it means that your culture and your heritage and maybe the things you hold dear are not the defining things in your life anymore; Jesus is the owner of your life.   Session 3 - Approval in Christ > Human Approval Identity in Christ supersedes any other identity we have in our heritage, race, legacy, or any other thing. There is nothing in your past, in your future, that you have done, or that has been done to you that will ever by stronger than the promise of Jesus Christ. No one's spiritual resume should ever intimidate us or make us insecure about our acceptance through Christ.   Session 4 - The Truth About Your Inheritance If you don't feel like you always have a place at God's table, you might be trying to take a seat at tables that are not healthy for you. Identify areas where you're still striving, or where you see yourself more as a slave of God than a child of God. Adoption changes everything. Embrace it and believe that's when freedom begins.   Session 5 - You've Been Set Free for This We usually find coping mechanisms so we can feel better about life's disappointments rather than walking in the freedom that God has given us. The freedom of Christ doesn't lead to self-indulgent or self-sabotaging behavior, but rather the empowerment of the Spirit to love and serve others.   Session 6 - Your Restoration Restores Others The acceptance you're craving, you already have. God has used the sacrifice of Jesus to bring you permanently into the family of God, and this is not some small acceptance. Nothing needs to be added to it. It is liberating acceptance. Your acceptance and freedom in Christ empowers you to bring healing and restoration to others wherever you go.
