Thursday, May 6, 2021 Throw It onto Him "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV). Sometimes we put our eyes on a man or a woman, expecting them to be everything for us. We expect them to never make a mistake. We expect them to have all the answers, and they don't. The prophet Isaiah wrote about King Uzziah, who ascended to the throne at age 16. Ultimately, he ruled for 52 years. And according to Scripture, he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and his people loved him. But King Uzziah made mistakes. Interestingly, Isaiah made a statement about Uzziah's death that we often can overlook: "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple" (Isaiah 6:1 NKJV). In other words, "This man was removed, and now I see the Lord." Instead of looking to people, look to Jesus Christ. He is the only one who will never fail you. He is the only one who will sustain you. And He is the one you will meet one day if you put your faith in Him. John the Baptist said of Jesus, "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30 NKJV). |
