A Letter from the Director Greetings, The last few months have brought seismic changes. One thing is for certain; we live in a different world than we did a few months ago, and things may never return to the way they were.  We cannot hope to make sense of things by using our old maps. Continuing to use maps that helped make sense of our previous world will only lead to greater confusion. In this historic moment, we live between an old worldview that no longer works for a Christendom formation model, and a new worldview that seems too bizarre to contemplate. We need a new GPS to navigate the realities of the world we are in.  We pray that these resources and opportunities will equip you with a new navigation system to fulfill God's mission wherever in the world you are called to serve.   Blessings! Strategies for Navigating New Realities Learning Lab Feb. 24, 2021 @ 3p ET Last month, we premiered our very first webinar on Strategies for Navigating Changing Realities, where Dr. Winfield Bevins shared about different approaches to leadership that can help you adapt to the dynamics of our world. If you have ever felt this call to church planting and are interested in participating in this training, please complete the interest form and we will follow-up with all information regarding official registration for the event.   Interest Form Before coming to Asbury in 2011, Dr. Gregg Okesson was a faculty member at Scott Christian University, Kenya, East Africa for 10 years where he served as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and a lecturer in theology. Prior to this, he was a pastor in upstate New York, worked in Student Development at Wheaton College, and was a church-planter amongst a Muslim people-group in north-central Tanzania. Dr. Okesson and his family lived in East Africa for 13 years. In this episode, Winfield and Gregg talk about how his church planting and community-building experiences in East Africa shape his role in a Western academic institution. They explore the importance of humility and listening for anyone hoping to do contextual ministry anywhere in the world.
