Read more COMMERCIAL FRAUD | Los Angeles-area man pleads guilty to role in international conspiracy to sell counterfeit laptop batteries following ICE HSI investigation A San Gabriel Valley, California man pleaded guilty June 29 to federal criminal charges for participating in a multimillion-dollar scheme to manufacture and ship counterfeit laptop computer batteries and other electronics from China to the United States, where the bogus batteries were sold to unsuspecting buyers in online marketplaces. Read more   CHILD EXPLOITATION | HSI investigation targeting human trafficking leads to the rescue of 10 women and children HSI, the Fresno Police Department Vice Unit and Fresno County District Attorney's Investigators conducted a multi-day operation to combat child exploitation and human trafficking in the Fresno area. During the operation, 10 women and girls were rescued from the sex trade while 21 arrests were made for multiple child exploitation related charges. Read more HUMAN TRAFFICKING | HSI operation nets 82 arrests and 31 rescued from human trafficking operation A recent operation resulted in the rescue of 31 victims of human trafficking for sexual exploitation. Of the total, 14 were missing children with the youngest child being four years old and 17 were adults.
