Wednesday, August 11, 2021 When You Feel Trapped "But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them" (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 NKJV). The Devil knows where he's ultimately going. And he would like to drag as many people there with him as he possibly can. While God wants you to come into a relationship with Him, the Devil wants to do everything to keep you away from a relationship with God. The Bible tells us the god of this age (Satan) has blinded the eyes of those who don't believe, "lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them" (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 NKJV). The Devil doesn't want you to believe. And the Bible also says that he's taken people captive to do his will (see 2 Timothy 2:26). He tries to keep us from coming to Christ, and when we do, he'll do everything possible to get us to fall away or compromise so that he can neutralize us. Maybe the Devil has been having a heyday in your life. Maybe he has you trapped in addiction, drugs, alcohol, or pornography. Maybe he has you trapped in a relationship or something else. You feel as though you'll never get out of that place. |
