NEW YORK— On Friday, September 17, 2021, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas will preside over a special Naturalization Ceremony in honor of Citizenship Day. Secretary Mayorkas will administer the Oath of Allegiance and provide congratulatory remarks to 200 of America's newest citizens during the ceremony at the iconic Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Secretary Mayorkas will be joined by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) New York District Director Timothy J. Houghton and the President and CEO of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Henry Timms. Soprano Harolyn Blackwell and a brass quintet from the New York Philharmonic will perform the National Anthem. In honor of Citizenship Day and Constitution Day, USCIS will welcome 21,000 new citizens at 335 ceremonies across the country between September 17 and 23.
