In the years that Mary Magdalene suffered from her demonic oppression, she was isolated from normal daily life. Now that she was released of her demons by the word of Jesus, she prepares to host her first Shabbat dinner. Meanwhile, Nicodemus puzzles over her miraculous deliverance. As her other misfit guests arrive, a surprise visitor knocks on her door. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. —Revelation 3:20 [ESV] |
