Our thoughts matter. They are a part of what it means to be human. They set the scene for our emotional responses. How we think and interpret situations affects how we feel. When our thinking is out of order, it doesn't take long before our emotions follow suit. Often we don't give our thoughts the attention they deserve, and consequently, we become quite careless in our thinking. In the New Testament book of Philippians, we read this:"...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things" (Phil. 4:8).
