Updated SchoolSafety.gov Encompasses New Topics to Address a Broader Range of School Safety Threats The Federal School Safety Clearinghouse is excited to announce the launch of a new version of SchoolSafety.gov. The updated site reflects a new, streamlined design and encompasses additional and expanded topics, subtopics, and resources to address a broader range of school safety threats and issues. With these updates, users will be able to navigate the site by specific areas of interest and more easily locate and access the resources and information they need. In addition to its existing suite of tools, the updated SchoolSafety.gov now features eight core school safety topic pages: - Bullying and Cyberbullying
- Cybersecurity
- Emergency Planning
- Infectious Diseases and Public Health
- Mental Health
- School Climate
- Targeted Violence
- Threat Assessment and Reporting
Several topic pages also include aligned subtopics for users to drill further into a particular area of focus related to school safety. In addition to the expansion of topics, the updated site includes a reorganized homepage layout and topline navigation bar with more direct and intuitive groupings for the site's content. All resources previously on the site remain – they may just be located under a new topic based on the updated design. SchoolSafety.gov originally launched in February 2020 and serves as a one-stop access point to Federal school safety resources. The site is designed to provide kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) schools and districts with actionable recommendations to create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive and grow. These updates ensure SchoolSafety.gov remains responsive to the emergence of new school safety threats and issues as they arise and continues to provide the K-12 school community with direct access to the information it needs to keep our schools safe and secure. We encourage you to explore the updated site as well as follow @SchoolSafetyGov on Twitter to stay up-to-date on all new resources, tools, and announcements from the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse. If you have any questions or would like to share feedback on the updated site, please contact SchoolSafety@hq.dhs.gov.
