This landmark legal decision is a perfect example to showcase just how big of an impact NIFLA can make – not only defending centers in a single state from their anti-life government but all pro-life pregnancy centers across the nation who continue to face similar threats. It's incredible having this victory under our belt. However, thanks to the outcome of NIFLA v. Becerra – and NIFLA's ongoing work to equip and defend centers nationwide – many of these other laws have since been prevented from taking effect…for now. An Abortion-Free America in Our Lifetime A "Post-Roe America" is coming sooner than I ever expected. If you had asked me 30 years ago if I thought it was not only possible for Roe v. Wade to be overturned but for America to be abortion-free, I'd have thought you were crazy. But with a very strong challenge against Roe v. Wade currently making its way through the courts via Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Center, it's never been so important for NIFLA and its pro-life pregnancy centers to stand ready as the backbone of a rising culture of life nationwide. NIFLA and its member centers reach so many communities, touch so many hearts, and save so many lives. I know that with your continued help, we can do so much more – and with the potential for Roe v. Wade to even be overturned, you ought to know just how vital NIFLA will be in the coming years as we enter a Post-Roe America. The Dobbs case is significant because the state of Mississippi – which is defending a new law prohibiting abortion after 15 weeks into a pregnancy – has not only asked that the Court uphold the law but deliver the death blow to Roe v. Wade as well. Many legal commentators, including myself, believe the Court will uphold the Mississippi law and possibly even reverse Roe. But even if Roe is not reversed and the law is simply upheld … … our movement can still consider this case a major pro-life win because it will allow states to restrict pre-viability abortions and even completely ban abortion! Such a decision will cut the heart out of Roe and render it a toothless tiger despite technically remaining on the books. So either way – you and I are winning the culture war for Life! An abortion-free America will be clearly around the corner when Roe is discarded. But that is when NIFLA's real battle begins. It's up to you and me to work diligently to supply training and resources to our network of more than 1,600 pro-life pregnancy centers across the nation.
