Teaching Legacy: Winning the Battle of the Ages

You and I need a battle cry! Something out of the ordinary.

Dear Friend, You and I need a battle cry! If we are to win The Battle of the Ages highlighted in this teaching letter series, it better be a good one. Something out of the ordinary. I've always been amused by the battle cry described in the 2 Chronicles 20:20 account of Jehoshaphat, when he sends the praise unit out ahead of the Israeli army. One might expect their battle cry to be something terrifying like, "Beware lest I tear you in pieces!" (see Psalm 50:22, NKJV). But it was much different than expected: "Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures forever" (v. 21). What was the result? The enemy was routed! That praise unit stood courageously, proclaiming the power and truth of the Lord—and it brought complete victory. May the same be true for you and me in these days! As Derek says: Opposition will increase, but those who endure to the end will be saved. God will use the Antichrist's evil activities to refine the true church and bring forth a pure bride for the Lord Jesus Christ. We must resist the devil, repent of our sins, and submit to God, thereby thwarting Satan's dominion.
