“Even So, Come!” By Billy Graham “Behold, I am coming quickly!” —Revelation 22:7, NKJV What would you say about a person who had made a hundred promises to you and already kept ninety-nine of them? You probably would think he or she was honest enough to fulfill the last promise as well, wouldn’t you? Jesus Christ has fulfilled every promise He ever made, except one. He has not yet returned. Will He? In both the Old and New Testaments there are references to the return of the Lord. Isaiah, for example, looked forward to the day when the Messiah’s kingdom would be a reality: “Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind” (Isaiah 65:17). John quotes Christ as saying, “I go to prepare a place for you. And … I will come again and receive you to Myself” (John 14:2–3). The entire book of Revelation tells of the glorious return of Christ. And we can say with the apostle John, who wrote that book, “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20). Are you looking forward to His return? And are you seeking until that day to be His faithful servant? Hope for Today Jesus is coming back and could arrive at any moment. It’s not as if He may, possibly, perhaps return. He is on His way—somewhere between there and here. Are you prepared for His arrival? | ||
