100 Days of Secretary Noem: Making America Safe Again

I will continue fighting every day alongside President Donald Trump to secure our border and keep American communities safe. This is just the beginning of the Golden Age of America.” - Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem

WASHINGTON – In her first 100 days on the job, Secretary Kristi Noem returned the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to its core mission of securing the homeland.

Under Secretary Noem’s strong leadership, DHS is hard at work securing our borders, arresting and removing criminal aliens, safeguarding the U.S. cyber infrastructure, protecting America’s leaders, deterring terrorism, and keeping America safe.

Below are just some of Secretary Noem’s accomplishments from her 100 Days:

Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, we have the most secure border in American history.

  • Daily border encounters have plunged 95% since President Trump and Secretary Noem took office.
  • Migrants are turning BACK before they even reach our border— migration through Panama’s Darien Gap is down 99.99%.
  • Secretary Noem launched a multimillion-dollar nationwide and international ad campaign, urging illegal aliens to leave the U.S. voluntarily or face deportation with no chance of return and warning criminals to stay out. The data shows the world is hearing our message.
  • Secretary Noem and Secretary Kennedy have reunited nearly 5,000 unaccompanied children with a safe relative or guardian.
  • Secretary Noem is finishing the border wall. DHS already has 85 miles of new construction either planned or under construction.
  • United States (U.S.) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) have seized nearly 232,000 pounds of fentanyl and other illicit drugs—stopping them from ever reaching American communities.

Secretary Noem is fulfilling President Trump’s promise to carry out mass deportations—starting with the worst of the worst.

  • Secretary Noem unleashed the U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) to target the worst of the worst, 75% of their arrests are criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges.
    • Secretary Noem rode with ICE agents on an operation in New York City that resulted in the arrest of a Tren de Aragua ringleader.
    • The Secretary went on a successful operation in Northern Virginia that got MS-13 gang members, 18th Street gang members, and perpetrators of sexual crimes off our streets.
    • Additionally, Secretary Noem went on an ICE operation in Phoenix that resulted in the arrest of human traffickers, drug smugglers, and 18th Street gang members.
  • DHS has secured 598 signed agreements with state and local partnerships under 287(g). Last week, the first 287(g) enforcement operation coordinated with state and federal law enforcement—Operation Tidal Wave—resulted in 1,120 arrests across Florida.
  • Secretary Noem deputized the Texas National Guard, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Marshals, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, members of the State Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help with immigration operations.
  • Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS has arrested over 168,000 illegal aliens in 2025 alone, including more than 600 members of Tren de Aragua
  • To fulfill President Trump’s promise to carry out mass deportations, DHS and Department of  Defense (DOD) are detaining some of the most dangerous illegal aliens, including violent criminals and members of terrorist gangs, at Guantanamo Bay. Secretary Noem was the first Cabinet Secretary to visit Guantanamo Bay and see the facilities where the worst of the worst are being held.
  • At President Trump’s direction, DHS deported nearly 300 Tren de Aragua and MS-13 terrorists to the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) Prison in El Salvador, where they no longer pose a threat to the American people.
  • While in El Salvador, Secretary Noem signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to update the Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement (SAFE) between the U.S. and El Salvador. This agreement ensures fugitives’ criminal records are shared between America and El Salvador, so that criminals are not inadvertently released into American communities.
  • While in Colombia, Secretary Noem signed a Statement of Intent for Biometric Cooperation. This agreement facilitates the sharing of biometric data between our nations to better identify and prevent criminals and terrorists from our crossing borders. Biometric data sharing has already led to over 1,700 deportations and 1,000 arrests.
  • President Trump ended the CBP One app that allowed more than one million aliens to illegally enter the U.S. Secretary Noem replaced this disastrous program with the CBP Home app, which has a new self-deportation reporting feature for aliens illegally in the country. So far, thousands of illegal aliens have used the app to self-deport.
  • The Trump Administration is enforcing the Alien Registration Act which requires aliens to register with the federal government. If illegal aliens fail to comply, they face fines and imprisonment.
  • Deportations have already exceeded 152,000—this is just the beginning.
  • Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS partnered with the Government of Uzbekistan to successfully deport over 100 illegal aliens from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This operation, in which Uzbekistan fully funded the deportation of their own nationals, underscores the deep security cooperation between our nations and sets a standard for U.S. alliances.

President Trump and Secretary Noem are putting the safety of Americans first and delivering justice for victims of illegal aliens and drug cartels.

  • Under the Secretary’s leadership, DHS is enforcing President Trump’s first major piece of legislation, the Laken Riley Act. This law mandates the federal detention of illegal aliens who are accused of theft, burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, or any crime resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
  • President Trump designated international drug cartels and other criminal gangs, such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. This enables a whole-of-government approach to dismantle their drug and human trafficking operations. The days of unchecked cartel and gang violence are over.
  • Following the Secretary’s meeting with the Honduran Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Trump Administration extradited Eswin Mejia, an illegal alien arrested for killing 21-year-old Sarah Root in a drunk driving crash, from Honduras.
  • President Trump and Secretary Noem reopened the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office, which was shuttered by the Biden Administration. President Trump and Secretary Noem are standing up for the victims of illegal alien crime and ensuring they have access to much needed resources and support they deserve.
  • Secretary Noem has met with Angel families—including Alexis Nungaray, Sabine Durden-Coulter, Tammy Nobles, Maureen Maloney, and Agnes Gibboneyto hear their tragic stories and offer support from the Trump Administration.

President Trump and Secretary Noem are restoring integrity and common sense to our legal immigration system.

  • DHS has returned the Temporary Protected Status immigration program to its original status: temporary. No longer will this program be abused and exploited by illegal aliens. Secretary Noem rescinded the previous administration’s extension of Venezuelan, Haitian, and Afghan TPS.
  • President Trump is returning common sense to our legal immigration system and national security by revoking visas of terrorist sympathizers. Those who glorify and support terrorists who kill Americans are not welcome in the U.S. Some examples include:
    • ICE arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University graduate student who led activities aligned with Hamas and passed out pro-Hamas propaganda flyers.
    • Dr. Rasha Alawieh was deported after she admitted to attending the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, a brutal terrorist who led Hezbollah and was responsible for killing hundreds of Americans.
    • ICE arrested Badar Khan Suri, a Georgetown foreign exchange student whose father-in-law is a senior advisor to Hamas.
  • To keep America safe, DHS is now conducting enhanced vetting of visa applicants, including monitoring foreign aliens’ social media accounts to identify any support for terrorist organizations.

Under President Trump, Secretary Noem refocused DHS to its core mission of protecting the American homeland and eliminating government waste.

  • Secretary Noem has empowered our brave men and women in ICE, Border Patrol, and the Coast Guard to use common sense to do their jobs effectively.
  • DHS ensured a safe and secure Super Bowl for the more than 100,000 fans celebrating in New Orleans.
  • Secretary Noem is embracing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) efforts to make sweeping cuts that eliminate government waste, return DHS to its core mission of protecting the homeland, and fulfill the Founders vision of returning power to the states.
    • The USCG eliminated an ineffective information technology (IT) program, saving nearly $33 million, and is now focusing resources where they’re most needed to protect our homeland.
    • The Trump Administration stopped aliens on the Terror Watchlist from receiving Medicaid benefits.
    • Secretary Noem stopped the construction of a new Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency headquarters building that was going to cost American taxpayers more than half a billion dollars.
  • Secretary Noem ended the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) FEMA grant program that was wasteful and ineffective. This resulted in nearly a billion dollars being directed to the Disaster Relief Fund.
  • To stop policies that were magnets for illegal immigration, DHS froze all funding to non-governmental organizations that facilitate illegal immigration and announced a partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to ensure taxpayer dollars do not go to housing illegal aliens.
  • Secretary Noem ended collective bargaining for the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Transportation Security Officers, which constrained TSA’s chief mission to safeguard our transportation systems and keep Americans safe.

Bottom Line: Secretary Noem will continue fighting alongside President Trump every day to secure our border and keep American communities safe. This is just the beginning of a new Golden Age of America.

DHS Announces Historic Travel Assistance and Stipend for Voluntary Self-Deportation

The First Illegal Alien to Utilize Travel Assistance has Already Returned to Honduras

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a historic opportunity for illegal aliens to receive both financial and travel assistance to facilitate travel back to their home country through the CBP Home App. Any illegal alien who uses the CBP Home App to self-deport will also receive a stipend of $1000 dollars, paid after their return to their home country has been confirmed through the app.

Self-deportation is a dignified way to leave the U.S. and will allow illegal aliens to avoid being encountered by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Even with the cost of the stipend, it is projected that the use of CBP Home will decrease the costs of a deportation by around 70 percent. Currently the average cost to arrest, detain, and remove an illegal alien is $17,121.

The first use of travel assistance has already proven successful. An illegal alien that the Biden Administration allowed into our country recently utilized the program to receive a ticket for a flight from Chicago to Honduras. Additional tickets have already been booked for this week and the following week.

If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest. DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country through the CBP Home App,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “This is the safest option for our law enforcement, aliens and is a 70% savings for US taxpayers. Download the CBP Home App TODAY and self-deport.

Illegal aliens submitting their intent to voluntarily self-deport in CBP Home will also be deprioritized for detention and removal ahead of their departure as long as they demonstrate they are making meaningful strides in completing that departure. Participation in CBP Home Self-Deportation may help preserve the option for an illegal alien to re-enter the United States legally in the future.

Qualifying aliens need to submit their “Intent to Depart” via the CBP Home app. For further information, visit DHS.gov/CBPhome.

DHS Makes Common Sense Courthouse Arrests of Criminal Illegal Aliens

Arrests include Illegal Aliens Accused of Fleeing the Scene After Running Over and Killing a Man in a Wheelchair, Drug Traffickers, and Violent Criminals

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security rescinded the Biden Administration’s guidelines for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions that thwarted law enforcement from carrying out immigration enforcement arrests in courthouses and emboldened criminal illegal aliens.

Arrests of criminal illegal aliens in courthouses is safer for law enforcement because these criminals have gone through security and been verified as unarmed.

Unfortunately, as our officers are carrying out enforcement operations across the country to arrest the worst of the worst, they are facing a 413% increase in assaults

“The ability of law enforcement to make arrests of criminal illegal aliens in courthouses is common sense,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “It conserves valuable law enforcement resources because they already know where a target will be. It is also safer for our officers and the community. These illegal aliens have gone through security and been screened to not have any weapons. Secretary Noem is empowering law enforcement to use common sense to remove criminal illegal aliens from American communities.”

Below are some examples of criminal illegal aliens ICE arrested in and around courthouses across the country.

Fernando Lorenzo-Raymundo

Fernando Lorenzo-Raymundo, an illegal alien from Guatemala, was charged with failing to report a traffic accident involving death. According to local reports, the victim was 58-year-old James McCammon who was crossing the street in his wheelchair when he was hit.

Lorenzo-Raymundo previously pled guilty to battery.

Lorenzo-Raymundo entered the United States illegally in 2013. On March 25, 2024, Border Patrol arrested and released him into the interior of the country.

Juan Carlos Baez
ICE arrested Juan Carlos Baez (also known as “Wilson Martell-Lebron”), a criminal illegal alien who has previous convictions for drug trafficking cocaine and heroin. He was arrested after he departed the Boston Municipal Court on March 27. Since Boston has declared itself a sanctuary jurisdiction and does not honor ICE detainers, the arrest had to take place after he departed the courthouse.

He entered the U.S. illegally on March 27, 2000

Jean Carlos Brito-Munoz
Jean Carlos Brito-Munoz is an illegal criminal alien charged with firearms not to be carried without a license and carrying firearms in public. A detainer was lodged with the Philadelphia Police Department, but since Philadelphia has declared itself a sanctuary jurisdiction and does not honor ICE detainers, Brito was released from custody without any notice to ICE.

On April 17th, he was arrested by ICE officers and federal partners near the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center. Brito is in removal proceedings and will remain in ICE custody pending a hearing with an immigration judge.

Jean Carlos Brito-Munoz

Teodoro Dominguez-Rodriguez

ICE and federal law enforcement partners coordinated a lawful arrest with the Albemarle General District Court of Teodoro Dominguez-Rodriguez, a violent illegal alien from Honduras with multiple arrests for assault and battery as well as an outstanding order of protection against him. Dominguez will remain in custody pending his removal proceedings.

Teodoro Dominguez-Rodriguez

Carlos Gomez Viuda

Gomez Viuda is a citizen of El Salvador and was arrested by the Champaign County Sheriff's Office in December 2024 for driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended or revoked license and violating probation.

Open border policies allowed this criminal alien to remain in the country. On October 25, 2010, Carlos Gomez Viuda was issued a Notice to Appear by ICE and placed into removal proceedings. On December 21, 2010, an immigration judge in New York, ordered Gomez Viuda removed to El Salvador. On June 6, 2016, the United States Border Patrol arrested Gomez Viuda and processed him as a reinstate.

Carlos Giueda

Ronaldo David Camacho Catana

Ronaldo David Camacho Catana, a criminal illegal alien, was arrested on January 5, 2025, by the Philadelphia Police and charged with driving under the influence. A detainer was lodged with the Philadelphia Police Department, but since Philadelphia declared itself a sanctuary jurisdiction and does not honor ICE detainers, he was released from custody without notice to ICE. He was arrested by ICE and federal partners on March 7 near the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center.

Arnuel Marquez Colmenarez

During a targeted immigration enforcement operation on Feb. 20 at a courthouse in Nashua, New Hampshire, two officers supporting ICE arrested Arnuel Marquez Colmenarez, an illegal alien from Venezuela as he exited a courthouse elevator. The Venezuelan national was in court to face charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, and failing to provide information after an accident.

Far too many American lives have been lost because of illegal aliens driving drunk, including Sarah Root and the young California couple Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin.

Secretary Noem Remembers Americans Killed by Illegal Aliens Driving Under the Influence

Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS continues to stand with innocent victims of illegal alien crime.

WASHINGTON – The Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office today released a video featuring the parents of Matthew Denice. Matthew was killed by an illegal alien who was driving drunk in 2011. The illegal alien ran a stop sign and knocked Matthew off his motorcycle and then dragged him a quarter mile to his death. He was only 23 years old.

Far too many American lives have been lost because of illegal aliens driving drunk, including Mathew Denice, Sarah Root, and so many others,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “These Americans killed by drunk-driving illegal aliens should still be with us today, and we feel their absence in our schools and offices, at our dinner tables, and throughout our communities. President Trump and Secretary Noem have reopened the VOICE Office to serve all victims of illegal alien crime and their families.”

The following names are just a handful of Americans whose lives were taken too soon at the hands of illegal aliens driving under the influence.

  • 7-year-old Ivory Smith was killed in a crash caused by Joel Enrique Gonzalez Chacin of Venezuela in Texas in 2024.

  • 8-year-old Maverick Martzen was killed in a crash caused by Karmit Singh of India in California in 2019.

  • 10-year-old Alex “AJ” Wise Jr. was killed in a crash caused by Rogelio Ortiz-Olivas of Mexico in Texas in 2024.

  • 18-year-olds Taliyah Crochet and Rylan Oncale were both killed in a crash caused by Axel Flores-Cordova of Honduras in Louisiana in 2024.

  • 19-year-olds Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin were both killed in a crash caused by Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano of Mexico in California in 2021.

  • 21-year-old Sarah Root was killed in a crash caused by Eswin Mejia of Honduras in Nebraska in 2016.

  • 29-year-old Grayson Davis was killed in a crash caused by illegal alien Jorge Peralta in Texas in 2024.

  • 44-year-old Police Officer David Lee was killed by Ramon A. Chavez-Rodriguez of Honduras in Missouri in 2024.

  • 47-year-old Melissa Powell and her 16-year-old son, Riordan, were killed in a crash caused by Jose Guadalupe Menjivar-Alas of Honduras in Colorado in 2024.

  • 70-year-old Robert Boles was killed in a crash caused by illegal alien Jorge Urbina Lopez in Texas in 2025

On April 10, Secretary Noem relaunched the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office. The VOICE office was shuttered by the previous administration, which left victims of alien crime without access to many key support services and resources. The office was first launched in 2017 by the Trump administration as a dedicated resource for those who have been victimized by crime that has a nexus to immigration.

Secretary Noem Requests Death Penalty Against Alleged Human Smugglers Whose Actions Resulted in the Death of at Least Three Individuals

Secretary Noem Requests Death Penalty Against Alleged Human Smugglers Whose Actions Resulted in the Death of at Least Three Individuals

WASHINGTON—Today, Secretary Kristi Noem announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will request the Department of Justice bring alien smuggling charges and seek the death penalty against two Mexican nationals whose human smuggling operation resulted in at least three deaths. Secretary Noem’s request is based on a thorough review of both the Immigration and Naturalization Act and the Federal Death Penalty Act.

On May 5, 2025, United States Coast Guard (USCG) Sector San Diego received a report from the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority (North Comm) of an overturned panga-style boat that washed ashore in Torrey Pine, San Diego. USCG Sector San Diego engaged multiple DHS and local assets to assist, including U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), United States Border Patrol (USBP), and San Diego Fire-Rescue. USBP confirmed through interviews of surviving individuals that there were originally 16 persons on board, including 14 adults and two minors. Two surviving individuals identified as Mexican nationals were detained on suspicion of smuggling illegal aliens into the United States. Three deceased were recovered and identified as Indian nationals. Seven others remain missing.

Statement Attributable to Secretary Kristi Noem:

Yesterday, off the coast of southern California, a panga-style boat capsized that was operated by Mexican nationals attempting to smuggle 14 aliens into the U.S. Tragically, three people were killed and seven are still missing. I commend the U.S. Coast Guard, and all Homeland Security personnel involved in the immediate response and ongoing investigation. Their professionalism and rapid action in perilous conditions reflect the highest standards of service and dedication to saving lives and upholding our nation’s laws.

This tragedy is a stark reminder of the inhumanity and lethal danger inherent to human smuggling at sea. Their deaths were not only avoidable but were also the direct result of the greed and indifference of smugglers who exploited them. Maritime smuggling is not just illegal—it is a violent and inherently dangerous crime. Those who knowingly place human lives at grave risk in furtherance of such crimes must be held fully accountable.

Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, alien smuggling acts that result in death are capital crimes punishable by death. And under the Federal Death Penalty Act, those who intentionally participate in conduct knowing that it could result in the loss of life may be eligible for capital punishment. Accordingly, I will be formally requesting that the Attorney General ensure that these two suspected smugglers are swiftly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I will also be urging the Attorney General to seek the death penalty in this case. The Department of Homeland Security will not tolerate this level of criminal depravity or reckless disregard for human life. We will continue to work with our federal partners to ensure justice is served and our laws upheld.”

Secretary Noem hosts a press conference with Angel Families in Governor J.B. Pritzker’s backyard.

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem hosts a press conference in Illinois Governor Pritzker’s backyard with Angel Families to call out the state’s sanctuary policies that undermine the rule of law and endanger fellow Americans

Some of the Angel Families that will be in attendance are:

  • The family of Denny McCann: Denny was crossing the street when he was hit by a car in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood and dragged to his death by an illegal alien. The driver was charged in the fatal crash, but after being released on bond, he disappeared.

  • The family of Jimmy Walden: Jimmy was killed by a twice deported illegal alien who crashed into Jimmy's motorcycle. He was killed in Maryland, but his father lives in Illinois.

You can watch the full press conference here.

I am calling upon Governor Pritzker, and other leaders in the state of Illinois, to abandon these dangerous sanctuary policies,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. We need to return to law and order and put the safety of Americans first.”

Just this month, ICE arrested Mexican national, Martin Chavez-Lomeli Jr., convicted in 2023 of killing his father and was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). After his conviction for second-degree murder, he was removeable from the country.

Martin Chavez-Lomeli Jr

However, in 2023, ICE placed a detainer on Chavez-Lomeli Jr. at Illinois Department of Correction and the State of Illinois elected not to honor the ICE detainer. Chavez-Lomeli Jr. was released from prison after serving less than 6 years of a 20-year sentence and was placed on parole.

TSA Begins REAL ID Full Enforcement

Travelers with a non-compliant ID will now face additional screening measures.

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the implementation of its REAL ID enforcement measures at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints nationwide. Most travelers won’t even notice a difference because 81% of travelers are already REAL ID compliant.

“REAL ID helps ensure that travelers are who they say they are and prevents fraud by criminals, terrorists, and illegal aliens,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “Enforcing federal law will help keep American travelers safe.”

TSA will enforce REAL ID and ensure there is no impact to wait times or TSA screening applications, especially for those passengers who are prepared with their REAL ID, passport, or other acceptable form of ID. Passengers who present a state-issued identification that is not REAL ID compliant at TSA checkpoints and who do not have another acceptable alternative form of ID will be notified of their non-compliance and may be directed to a separate area to receive additional screening.

TSA expects the number of passengers obtaining REAL IDs to steadily increase and will continue with additional screening measures for those without a REAL ID until it is no longer considered a security vulnerability.

More information on REAL ID can be found at this link TSA.gov/real-id.

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem today held a press conference highlighting the devastation sanctuary policies have caused in Illinois and across America with Angel families who shared their tragic stories of their loved ones lost because of illegal alien crime. The Secretary also called out Illinois Governor Pritzker for shielding law breakers.

“As Secretary of Homeland Security, I'm going to uphold our federal immigration laws,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “I'm going to draw attention to people who are breaking the law and violating our Constitution. I'm going to fight for the victims every single day and draw attention to them as long as we can. And President Trump will continue to do that as well. We should be united as a country around bringing violent criminals to justice and getting them out of the United States of America.”

THE REAL STORY: DHS Sets the Record Straight on Terrorist Sympathizer and Leader of the Columbia Pro-Terrorist Riots Mohsen Mahdawi

The mainstream media fawned over this terrorist sympathizer and claimed his arrest was an attack on First Amendment Rights

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today set the record straight on Columbia University riots ringleader Mohsen Mahdawi. In recent days, misleading and lazy reporting painted the leader of pro-terrorist demonstrations as a “peacemaker” court records alleging that Mahdawi told a gun shop owner that he used firearms to “kill jews.”

In a brief filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 28 in the United States District Court for the District of Vermont, Mohsen Mahdawi was cited as admitting to being involved in and supporting pro-terrorist acts of violence. Mahdawi also allegedly admitted to familiarity with firearms per a police report. The federal filing reveals:

  • Mahdawi supposedly told a gun shop owner “that he had considerable firearm experience” and used guns to "kill Jews while he was in Palestine.”
  • Mahadawi was cited as having experience building firearms, including modified 9mm submachine guns.
  • Another member of the community recalled Mahdawi stating “I like to kill Jews.”
  • In a police report, a concerned individual reported that Mahdawi requested to purchase a sniper rifle and a machine gun. He also claimed that he said he used to make guns for Hezbollah.

Below is an excerpt of the DOJ’s brief:

DOJ Brief

This week, Mahdawi also accused the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of staging a citizenship interview as a trap in order to arrest him. Many in the media failed to report the real story here, which is that this terrorist sympathizer allegedly bragged to a gun shop owner that he had considerable firearms experience as he used to “kill Jews while he was in Palestine.”

Statement Attributable to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

"As the media works overtime to glorify a ringleader of the Columbia pro-terrorist riots, court documents show Mahdawi allegedly told a gun shop owner that he had considerable firearms experience and he ‘used to kill Jews.’ The media tried to paint Mohsen Mahdawi as a martyr for free speech. The truth is he is a terrorist sympathizer and national security threat who does not belong in this country. Why does the media continue to defend terrorist sympathizers?”

Below are just a handful of examples of misleading headlines.

Members of Congress Break into Delaney Hall Detention Center

Delaney Hall Currently Holds Murderers, Rapists, Suspected Terrorists, and Gang Members

NEWARK, NJ –Today, as a bus of detainees was entering the security gate of Delaney Hall Detention Center, a group of protestors, including two members of the U.S. House of Representatives, stormed the gate and broke into the detention facility. Representatives Robert Menendez, Jr. and Bonnie Watson Coleman and multiple protestors are holed up in a guard shack, the first security check point.

“Members of Congress storming into a detention facility goes beyond a bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our law enforcement agents and detainees at risk. Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an evolving situation,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

The allegations made by Newark politicians that Delaney does not have the proper permitting are false. We have valid permits, and inspections for plumbing and electricity, and fire codes have been cleared.

ACLU Drops Baseless Lawsuit Over False Claims that ICE Deported U.S. Citizens

ACLU falsely accused DHS of deporting a U.S. Citizen despite the child’s mother choosing to bring the child with her when she was removed.

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security announced that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) dropped its baseless lawfare case against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department.

“The ACLU dropped its lawsuit on the false claims that DHS deported a U.S. citizen,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The truth is, and has always been, that the mother—who was in the country illegally—chose to bring her 2-year-old with her to Honduras when she was removed. The narrative that DHS is deporting American children is false and irresponsible.”

ACLU

The parent, Jenny Carolina Lopez-Villela , made the decision to take her child to Honduras. ICE asks parents if they want to be removed with their children or if they would like to place a child with someone the parent designates. In this case, the parent stated they wanted to be removed with their child.

Jenny Carolina Lopez-Villela illegally entered this country three times in September 2019, March of 2021, and August 2021. She and her older daughter were deemed inadmissible to the United States the first time she entered the country and both her and her daughter were given final orders of removal in March 2020. When she was taken into ICE custody in April 2025, she chose to bring her younger daughter, who is an American Citizen, with her to Honduras and presented a valid United States passport.

DHS takes its responsibility to protect children seriously and will continue to work with federal law enforcement to ensure that children are safe and protected. Parents, who are here illegally, can take control of their departure. The CBP Home app gives parents illegally in the country a chance to take full control of their departure and self-deport, with the potential ability to return the legal, right way and come back to live the American dream. It is free and available for all mobile devices.

On Mothers’ Day DHS Honors Tammy Nobles and all the Mothers Who Lost Loved Ones to Illegal Alien Crime

Tammy’s Daughter Kayla Was Brutally Murdered By An Illegal Alien MS-13 Gang Member

WASHINGTON – The Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office today released a video featuring the mother of Kayla Hamilton. On July 27, 2022, 20-year-old Kayla was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien and MS-13 member released into the United States by the Biden Administration.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and President Trump stand with the victims of illegal alien crimes and their families.

“This Mother’s Day, Secretary Noem is honoring Tammy Nobles and all the mother’s who lost loved ones to illegal alien crime,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Kayla’s life was tragically taken by a criminal illegal allen and known MS-13 gang member who was released into our country by the previous administration. We must never forget Kayla, and the many other beautiful American lives lost to illegal alien crime. These sons, daughters, mother, fathers, brothers and sisters should still be with us today, and their absence is a painful reminder, every day, of the importance of a secure border. President Trump and Secretary Noem will continue to fight for the victims of illegal alien crime.”

The following are just a few example of the murderous crimes committed by MS-13 members:

Secretary Noem relaunched the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office. The VOICE office was shuttered by the previous administration, which left victims of alien crime without access to many key support services and resources. The office was first launched in 2017 by the Trump administration as a dedicated resource for those who have been victimized by crime that has a nexus to immigration.

If you or a loved one has been impacted by a crime committed by an illegal alien, you are not alone.

Department of Homeland Security Investigates State of California for Providing Federal Benefits to Illegal Aliens

Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not allow U.S. taxpayer dollars to be squandered on illegal aliens

LOS ANGELES - Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Los Angeles Field Office issued a Title 8 subpoena to the State of California’s Cash Assistance Program for Immigrations (CAPI). This program provides benefits to aliens who are ineligible for Social Security benefits because of their immigration status.

The subpoena requests all records from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services – who administers the state program – to determine if ineligible illegal aliens received Supplemental Security Income (SSI) from the Social Security Administration, between January 2021 to present.

HSI Los Angeles is subpoenaing the following records:

  • Applicant’s Name and Date of Birth
  • Copies of Applications
  • Immigration Status
  • Proof of Ineligibility for SSI from the Social Security Administration
  • Affidavits in Support of the Application

"Radical left politicians in California prioritize illegal aliens over our own citizens, including by giving illegal aliens access to cash benefits,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “The Trump Administration is working together to identify abuse and exploitation of public benefits and make sure those in this country illegally are not receiving federal benefits or other financial incentives to stay illegally. If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The gravy train is over. While this subpoena focuses only on Los Angeles County – it is just the beginning.”

On April 15, 2025, President Donald Trump signed the Memorandum Preventing Illegal Aliens from Obtaining Social Security Act Benefits to stop incentivizing illegal immigration and protect taxpayer dollars. The Memorandum directs the Secretary of Homeland Security – in consultation with the Secretaries of Labor and Health and Human Services, the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, and the Attorney General – to ensure ineligible illegal aliens do not receive funds from Social Security programs and prioritize civil or criminal enforcement against states or localities for potential violations of Title IV of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA).

Under the previous administration, more than 2 million ineligible illegal aliens received a Social Security Number in fiscal year 2024 alone. Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Homeland Security will work with its federal partners to deliver on his promise to put Americans, and their tax dollars, first.

DHS Terminating Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan

DHS Terminating Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan

WASHINGTON – Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem today announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan. The TPS designation for the country expires on May 20, 2025, and the termination will be effective on July 12, 2025.

At least 60 days before a TPS designation expires, the Secretary, after consultation with appropriate U.S. government agencies, is required to review the conditions in a country designated for TPS to determine whether the conditions supporting the designation continue to be met, and if so, how long to extend the designation.

This administration is returning TPS to its original temporary intent, said Secretary Kristi Noem. We’ve reviewed the conditions in Afghanistan with our interagency partners, and they do not meet the requirements for a TPS designation. Afghanistan has had an improved security situation, and its stabilizing economy no longer prevent them from returning to their home country. Additionally, the termination furthers the national interest as DHS records indicate that there are recipients who have been under investigation for fraud and threatening our public safety and national security. Reviewing TPS designations is a key part of restoring integrity in our immigration system.

After consultation with interagency partners, Secretary Noem determined that conditions in Afghanistan no longer meet the statutory requirements. The Secretary’s decision was based on a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services review of the country conditions and in consultation with the Department of State. The Secretary determined that, overall, there are notable improvements in the security and economic situation such that requiring the return of Afghan nationals to Afghanistan does not pose a threat to their personal safety due to ongoing-armed conflict or extraordinary and temporary conditions. She further determined that permitting Afghan nationals to remain temporarily in the United States is contrary to the national interest of the United States.

Our job is to get federal disaster management back on track after years of mismanagement. Disaster relief has been so inadequate there are still open applications that were submitted after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Under President Trump’s leadership, Secretary Noem is fixing that. The awards are as follows:

  • Tennessee: $36.9M for permanent repairs from severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding which resulted in an F-3 tornado that destroyed the Grace Baptist Church and Academy of Hamilton County buildings.  DHS Announces Successful Operation with 287g Partners in Nashville Resulting in Arrests of MS-13 Affiliate, Murderer, Sex Offenders, and Illegals with Assault Convictions

Despite the success of this enforcement operation, the Nashville Mayor has claimed these operations were done by “people who do not share our values of safety."

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement in conjunction with Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has made 196 arrests of criminal illegal aliens during an operation in Nashville, Tennessee.

Of the 196 individuals arrested, 95 had prior criminal convictions and pending criminal charges and 31 were previously removed individuals who reentered the U.S. illegally, a felony offense under federal law.

Despite ICE and THP’s success in protecting Americans from these criminal illegal aliens, Mayor O’Connell stands by pro-illegal policies claiming that these operations were done by “people who do not share our values of safety.” Mayor O’Connell launched the Belonging Fund to provide taxpayer dollars for aliens in Nashville.

Attacks and demonization of ICE have resulted in offers facing a 413% increase in assaults.

Last year, Nashville felt the scourge of illegal immigration when an illegal alien—who was deported four timesmurdered local restaurant owner Matt Carney in a reckless hit-and-run crash. Since the tragic incident, the restaurant closed its doors.

You would think all public officials would unite around DHS bringing violent criminal illegal aliens to justice and removing them from American communities. However, pro-open borders politicianslike Mayor O’Connell—would rather protect illegal aliens than American citizens,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. This operation resulted in getting gang members, sex offenders, and other violent criminals off Nashville’s streets. President Trump and Secretary Noem will continue to stand with victims and the brave ICE agents who are on the frontlines making America safe again.”

DHS Lands Legal Victory in IRS Data Sharing Case: “Win for the American People and for Common Sense”

U.S. District Court blocks injunction request by activist legal groups seeking to prevent DHS from working with the IRS to enforce immigration laws

WASHINGTONThe Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secured an initial legal victory and released the following statement on Monday night’s decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denying an injunction that would have prevented DHS and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from partnering to help U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) access information to better enforce criminal immigration laws.

Statement Attributable to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

Under President Trump’s leadership, the government is finally doing what it should have all along—sharing information across the federal government to solve problems. Biden not only allowed millions of illegal aliens to flood into our country, but he lost them through incompetence and improper processing.

Information sharing across agencies is essential to identify who is in our country, including violent criminals, determine what public safety and terror threats may exist so we can neutralize them, scrub these individuals from voter rolls, and identify what public benefits these aliens are using at taxpayer expense. With the IRS information specifically, DHS plans to focus on enforcing long-neglected criminal laws that apply to illegal aliens but which the Biden Administration ignored.

“Today’s ruling is a victory for the American people and for common sense.”

The Judge states in the decision, “At its core, this case presents a narrow legal issue: Does the Memorandum of Understanding between the IRS and DHS violate the Internal Revenue Code? It does not.”

ICYMI-Deputy Secretary Edgar: “An Illegal Immigrant Killed Two Teenagers In My Community. Under The Trump Administration, He Will Face Justice”

Oscar Ortega-Anguiano is set to be released from prison after serving just three-and-a-half years of his 10-year sentence for the killing of Anya Varfolomeev and Nikolay Osokin

WASHINGTON – Today, the Washington Examiner published Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar’s Op-Ed in the Washington Examiner titled, “An Illegal Immigrant Killed Two Teenagers In My Community. Under the Trump Administration, He Will Face Justice.”

The Op-Ed highlights the story of Anya Varfolomeev and Nikolay Osokin, two 19-year-olds that were killed in 2021 by an illegal alien who was driving under the influence in the Deputy Secretary’s home state of California.

Recently, it was revealed that Oscar Ortega-Anguiano—the teens’ killer—is set to be released from a California state prison after serving just three-and-a-half years of a 10-year sentence. However, the Trump administration is intervening to ensure Ortega-Anguiano does not walk free.

The full Op-Ed is available here and below:

The worst call you could ever receive as a parent is one telling you that your teenage son or daughter has been in a car accident. It’s a lifechanging call that would go down as one of the worst days of your life. It could be even worse though: What if you also found out that the driver that caused the accident was in our country illegally? This tragic circumstance is a reality for the parents of Anya Varfolomeev and Nikolay Osokin.

At just 19 years old, these two young people from Orange County, California had their whole lives ahead of them. Varfolomeev was a bright young woman, who was a dedicated ballerina and scout. Osokin was a gifted student at Pepperdine University who excelled in both music and academics. But in November 2021, their lives were senselessly stolen in a fiery crash caused by a criminal illegal alien who should have never been in this country in the first place.

Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano was driving drunk, high on drugs, and speeding at nearly 100 mph on the 405 freeway when he crashed into a vehicle carrying Varfolomeev and Osokin. Even worse, Ortega-Anguiano was a repeat criminal, with a track record that includes multiple felonies and convictions for driving without a license. Despite being deported, he re-entered our country illegally twice.

Now, four years later, Ortega-Anguiano is set to be released from California state prison after serving just 3.5 years of his 10-year sentence. I’ve spoken to Anya’s father, and he is outraged. So am I.

This story hits especially close to home because I served as mayor and city council member of Los Alamitos for over a decade, and this tragic incident happened in our community. It also represents so much that is wrong with our broken immigration system. As Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, I work relentlessly under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem to carry out their priorities to protect our communities from brutal criminals who should not be loose on American streets.

Under the Trump administration, DHS is enforcing our nation’s immigration laws and seeking to punish criminals to the fullest extent of the law, and this has my direct attention. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer for Ortega-Anguiano with the California Department of Corrections. If state authorities do not honor the ICE detainer, federal agents will take custody of Ortega-Anguiano and deport him immediately upon release. The U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California has also filed a felony immigration charge against Ortega-Anguiano, which could put him behind bars for an additional 20 years.

Under the secretary’s leadership, the department is also giving support to victims by reopening the ICE’s Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement office. VOICE was first launched in 2017 by the Trump administration as a dedicated resource for those who have been victimized by crime that has a nexus to immigration. The Biden administration shuttered the office, leaving victims and their families without access to key resources and support services--but we will not allow their stories to be silenced any longer.

Every day, the Trump Administration is working to prevent these tragedies from happening in another town, to another family. DHS Files Emergency SCOTUS Request for Immediate Deportations After 23 Tren de Aragua Members Barricade Themselves, Threaten to Take Hostages and Harm ICE Agents

TdA Threats to Law Enforcement Grow while Illegal Aliens Remain in Custody

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today released a statement after the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a request Monday for the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) to end a temporary injunction of deportations under the Alien Enemies Act (AEA).

The prolonged detention of TdA members in ICE facilities poses serious risks for ICE officers, facility staff, and other detainees, and DHS requests that the SCOTUS moves quickly to allow ICE to remove these terrorist gang members from our country.

23 TdA members barricaded themselves in the Bluebonnet Detention Facility, threatened to take hostages, and endangered officers. Keeping these foreign terrorists in ICE facilities poses a serious threat to ICE officers, staff, and other detainees,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The media repeated these TdA gang members’ false sob stories, but the truth is these are members of a foreign terrorist organization that rape, maim, and murder for sport.”

According to ICE Dallas Acting Field Office Director Joshua Johnson, on April 26, 23 TdA members at Bluebonnet Detention Facility barricaded the doors of their housing unit with bed cots. The detainees also covered surveillance cameras and blocked the housing unit windows.

They also threatened to take hostages and injure facility staff and ICE officers in addition to attempting to flood the housing unit by clogging toilets. When they were ordered to take down the barricades, the TdA detainees did not comply with orders and remained barricaded for several hours.

Johnson also stated the following regarding the risk of prison recruitment and the expansion of TdA:

New York Times “Reporting” Fails to Mention ICE Arrests of Criminal Illegal Aliens Charged with Kidnapping, Assault, Firearms Offenses, and Theft

The New York Times story falsely paints a narrative that ICE targeted coffee workers—the truth is criminal illegal aliens were the targets

WASHINGTON – The New York Times story falsely painted a narrative that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeted illegal alien coffee workers in Hawaii. The truth is ICE targeted criminal illegal aliens and conducted unaccompanied minor welfare checks to ensure children are not being abused, trafficked or otherwise exploited.

“Our brave ICE agents conducted operations in Hawaii to protect communities from violent criminals who shouldn’t be in our country. The targets of the operation in Hawaii included criminal illegal aliens charged with kidnapping, assault, distribution of deadly drugs, domestic abuse, and theft, said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. Why does the New York Times continue to peddle false sob stories of criminal illegal aliens but ignore their victims? Completely leaving out the facts and rap sheets of criminals arrested shows the New York Times's complete bias. This story was nothing but an attempt to mislead the public.”

Below are some of the criminal illegal aliens arrested in Hawaii that the New York Times failed to report:

On January 23, 2025, HSI Honolulu administratively arrested Rescue Suda, a citizen of the Marshall Islands. The Circuit Court of Hawaii County, Hawaii previously convicted Suda of Felony Assault. Suda was also arrested for kidnapping and terroristic threatening.

SUDA

On February 25, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested Navor Salas-Cruz, 52, a citizen of Mexico. Salas-Cruz was identified as being present in the United States after a prior order of removal. Salas-Cruz has multiple immigration encounters starting in 1996 including 2 prior removals and has a lengthy state criminal history ranging from assault, DWI, forgery, driving without a license, criminal contempt of court, family abuse. Federal charges include 8 U.S.C. § 1326(a) and 18 U.S.C § 922(g)(l) for one count of reentry of removed alien and one count of felon in possession of firearms and ammunition

Cruz

On January 25, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested RJ Marsolo, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia.  The State of Hawaii, Circuit Court of the First Circuit, previously convicted Marsolo of assault in the first degree and assault in the third degree and sentenced him to a total of 10 years imprisonment.

Marsolo

On January 25, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested Herman Faamausili, A citizen of Samoa.  The United States District Court, District of Hawaii, previously convicted Faamausili of distribution and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine and sentenced him to 70 months imprisonment.  The immigration judge ordered Faamausili’s previous removal from the United States on September 15, 2021.

Heine

On January 26, 2025, HSI Honolulu arrested Heine a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia. The Superior Court of Guam convicted JAI of theft by receiving, sentencing him to 5 years in prison, and assault, sentencing him to 1 year in prison.  The immigration judge previously ordered JAI’s removal from the United States on April 16, 2020.

DHS Reminds Congressional Members of ICE’s Guidelines to Schedule Tours of ICE Detention Facilities

There was no need for Congressional members to storm Delaney Hall—they could have just scheduled a tour

WASHINGTON – After members of Congress broke into Delaney Hall and assaulted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, the Department of Homeland Security is reminding Congressional offices of ICE’s facility visitation guidelines.

Members of Congress cannot break the law in the name of ‘oversight.’ Secretary Noem respects congresses oversight authority and is always willing to accommodate Members seeking to visit ICE detention facilities,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. However, they are not above the law. All members and staff need to comply with facility rules, procedures, and instructions from ICE personnel on site for their own safety, the safety of the detainees, and the safety of ICE employees. If these three members had simply asked for a tour, these three congressional members would have been easily allowed into Delaney Hall and would not have had to resort to assaulting law enforcement to enter the facility.

Despite these Congressional members storming Delaney Hall and assaulting officers, they were still given a tour of the facility.

Below are a few highlights of ICE’s guidance – which ensure the safety of all agents, visitors, and inmates:

  • ICE will comply with the law and accommodate Members of Congress seeking to visit/tour an ICE detention facility for the purpose of conducting oversight.
  • If Members and/or Congressional staff would like to meet with a specific detainee or set of detainees, please provide names, alien registration numbers, and valid, signed privacy releases with your request. If Members and/or Congressional staff would like to meet with non-specific detainees, a minimum of 48-hours advanced notice is needed for the facility to post sign-up sheets, identify detainees who wish to participate (if any), and execute required privacy waivers.
  • Safety, security, and good order are always primary considerations in a detention facility, and visitors must be properly identified and attired.
  • All visitors are subject to search upon entering the facility and at any other time during the tour.
  • Introduction of contraband or other criminal violations may lead to criminal prosecution of a visitor.

Members of Congress and their staff are invited to read the full guidance and schedule a tour of any ICE facility.

U.S. Secret Service Applications Jump 200% Since President Trump's Inauguration

U.S. Secret Service Applications Jump 200% Since President Trump’s Inauguration

WASHINGTON – Internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data shows a massive spike in applications to join the United States Secret Service (USSS).

From January 20, 2025, to May 1, 2025, USSS received over 22,000 applications to join its ranks. This is a 200% increase over the same period from 2024, where only 7,000 applied. This surge of applications comes as President Trump and Secretary Noem have put an end to DEI-based hiring practices in the Secret Service and across the Department. Secret Service officers are now being hired and promoted based on their merit.

For four years, the previous administration demoralized and denied resources to our brave men and women in law enforcement, including in the Secret Service,” said a DHS spokesperson. “We are reinvigorating the Secret Service and providing it with the resources our brave and women need to do their jobs. We are seeing a historic surge in applications. Americans want to protect and serve, and we simply must let them.

These officers are charged with a no-fail mission, and that mission demands only the best of the best.

Further, by putting an end to the distractions imposed upon them by political operatives in the previous administration, we have freed up the Secret Service to once again focus on its core mission of protecting the President.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Secret Service, please go to https://www.secretservice.gov/careers to apply online.

Six Illegal Aliens Charged For Brutal Murder Of South Carolina Mother in Random Attempted Robbery

ICE detainer ensures these criminal illegal aliens will never be on American streets again.

LANCASTER, SC – Local authorities have charged six illegal aliens, between the ages of 13 and 21, with the random murder of a South Carolina mother of two, Larisha Sharell Thompson. They have also been charged with burglary and attempted armed robbery.

The six illegal aliens allegedly pulled up alongside Thompsonfatally shot her and attempted to enter her vehicle. Not only did these individuals allegedly murder this innocent mother, but they are also accused of attempting to rob a convenience store.

On May 12, local authorities announced the arrests of six illegal aliens from Honduras including Asael Torres-Chirinos, Jarby Ramos-Ardon, Jeyson Salgado-Pineda, and three juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15, for the murder of Thompson and the convenience store burglary.

Torres-Chino was previously arrested in 2023 for domestic violence.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed detainers on all six criminal illegal aliens as they await criminal prosecution in South Carolina.

Statement Attributable to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

Larisha Sharell Thompson's life was tragically taken by criminal illegal aliens. She was a mother who was driving to a friend’s house when her life was brutally taken by these criminal aliens who should have never been in our country. President Trump and Secretary Noem will always fight for the victims of illegal alien crime and their families. The safety of American citizens comes first.

FAKE NEWS FRIDAY: DHS Torches Latest Media Hoax

WASHINGTON – The Daily Mail published yet another false story Thursday, claiming Secretary Kristi Noem “backed” a reality television show pitch about U.S. citizenship.

In a statement, Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin slammed the Daily Mail’s false reporting and fake narratives.

“This is completely false. Daily Mail’s ‘reporting’ is an affront to journalism. Secretary Noem has not ‘backed’ nor is even aware of the pitch of any scripted or reality show. DHS receives hundreds of television show pitches a year, ranging from documentaries surrounding ICE and CBP border operations to white collar investigations by HIS. Each proposal undergoes a thorough vetting process prior to denial or approval. We need to revive patriotism and civic duty in this country, and we’re happy to review out-of-the-box pitches. This pitch has not received approval or rejection by staff.” – Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin

The U.S. Border Patrol, the U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard are Breaking Recruitment Records Under President Trump and Secretary Noem

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security announced that since President Trump took office, the U.S. Border Patrol, the U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard have all reported unprecedented levels of applications and new recruits.

These numbers are a stunning reversal over the past four years, where, under the Biden administration’s all-out assault on law enforcement officers, all three agencies routinely struggled to meet recruiting targets. Now, they are exceeding them.

“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, our men and women in uniform are respected again and empowered to do their jobs," said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "Since President Trump took office, more Americans have applied to join the Border Patrol than any time in its history; Secret Service applications have surged 200%; and the US Coast Guard is now on pace to exceed recruitment by 110%. America can be proud of its brave men and women who are making America safe again.”

After being empowered by President Trump and Secretary Noem to finally secure our border, more Americans applied to join the Border Patrol than over any five-month stretch in its history. From January to May 2025, the agency received nearly 35,000 applications, a 44% increase from the same period in 2024.

Over that same period, the Secret Service received over 22,000 applications. This is a 200% increase over the same time frame in 2024, when it received only 7,000 applications. Notably, this surge in interest came after Secretary Noem cancelled all DEI programs and hiring practices at the Secret Service.

Every year under the Biden Administration, the Coast Guard fell short of its recruiting targets. However, since President Trump and Secretary Noem ordered the Coast Guard to triple its presence at our maritime border and focus on interdicting drug and human smuggling in January, that tide has turned. The Coast Guard is now on pace to exceed recruitment by 110%. In fiscal year 2025, the Coast Guard has brought in 4,250 new recruits – 1,200 more than over the same time last year.

FACT CHECK: DHS Requests to Replace 20-Year-Old Coast Guard Jet is for Safety

FACT CHECK: DHS Requests to Replace 20-Year-Old Coast Guard Jet is for Safety

Fake News Reporting Inaccurately Claims Request is for Secretary’s “Personal Use”

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today fact-checked false accusations by media outlets surrounding the United States Coast Guard’s (USCG) planned replacement of a jet that is more than 20 years old.

“The current CG-101 G550 is over 20 years old, outside of Gulfstream’s service life, and well beyond operational usage hours for a corporate aircraft. This is a matter of safety. Much like the US Coast Guard’s ships that are well beyond their service life and safe operational usage, Coast Guard’s aircraft are, too. The Trump Administration is taking action to restore our Nation’s finest maritime Armed Service to a capable fighting force,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

The majority of authorized users for the Long-Range Command and Control Aircraft (LRCCA) program are Coast Guard leadership, including four-star and three-star admirals.

One of the Service’s two aircraft is 22 years old and faces significant avionics and communications obsolescence issues.

The maintenance issues of the older jet directly impact its availability for critical missions and hinders the USCG’s ability to provide reliable and secure transportation for Coast Guard leadership.

The Coast Guard and its leadership—which includes the Secretary of Homeland Security—require world-class, effective command and control capabilities.

  • Significant constraints on capabilities and communications in the current aircraft program threaten to limit the Department and USCG’s ability to carry out its critical mission.
  • To address these challenges, the Service is accelerating planned communications upgrades and acquiring a third LRCCA to Air Station Washington. These efforts will ensure secure, reliable communications and meet the demand for continuity of operations and mission-ready command and control capability.
  • Presently, the Coast Guard has only two Long-Range Command and Control Aircraft to provide safe and reliable air transportation and communications capability for key leadership within DHS and the Coast Guard.

DHS Debunks Fake News Narratives About Law Enforcement During Police Week

ICE Operations Result in Successful Arrests of Illegal Aliens, MS-13 and TdA members Despite False Accusations from the Media

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security today released the following facts about Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) recent operations and Customs and Border Protection arrests to set the record straight on misleading news narratives and reporting.

“Even during National Police Week, the media, members of Congress, and sanctuary politicians have demonized ICE and CBP officers who bravely serve their country,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. Attacks and smears against ICE have resulted in officers facing a 413% increase in assaults. We are setting the facts straight and reassuring America that President Trump and Secretary Noem will continue to support ICE and CBP in their efforts to make America safe again.

Debunking the Biggest False News Stories this Week

Delaney Hall Storming was “oversight” by Congressional members

  • At least three members of Congress, Representatives Robert Menendez, Jr., LaMonica McIver and Bonnie Watson Coleman, claimed that breaking into Delaney Hall was “oversight”—but it is actually trespassing and put ICE officers and detainees at risk.
  • The allegations made by Newark politicians that Delaney Hall does not have the proper permitting are false. ICE maintains valid permits and inspections for plumbing and electricity and fire codes have been cleared.
  • Delaney Hall currently confines murderers, rapists, suspected terrorists and gang members.
  • There was no need for Congressional members to storm Delaney Hall—they could have just scheduled a tour. ICE will comply with the law and accommodate Members of Congress seeking to tour an ICE detention facility for the purpose of conducting oversight.
  • Safety, security, and good order are always primary considerations in a detention facility, and visitors must be properly identified and attired.

Nashville Mayor Smears ICE Enforcement

  • Mayor Freddie O’Connell and biased news media framed ICE operations in Nashville as “not focused on making us safer.”
  • In reality, of the 196 illegal aliens ICE arrested, 95 had prior criminal convictions and pending criminal charges and 31 were previously removed individuals who reentered the U.S. illegally, which is a felony offense under federal law.
  • The successful operation resulted in the arrests of an MS-13 affiliate, a murderer, sex offenders, and illegal aliens convicted of assault.

ICE’s Hawaii Operation focused on “coffee farmers”

  • Completely leaving out the facts and rap sheets of criminals arrested, the New York Times peddled a misleading narrative about ICE’s operation in Hawaii targeted criminal illegal aliens.
  • The operation resulted in the arrest of illegal aliens charged with kidnapping, assault, firearms offenses, drug offenses and theft.

Yamal Said, Lord Buffalo drummer, detained by border officials at airport

  • Yamal Said is a Mexican national and lawful U.S. permanent resident.
  • Yamal Said had a warrant for his arrest after violating a restraining order at least TWICE.
  • If you come to our country and break our laws, you will be arrested.

Boston ICE agents arrest mother in front of her daughters

  • What the media failed to report is the target of this ICE operation was a violent criminal illegal alien, Ferreira de Oliveira. She was arrested by local police for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery of a pregnant victim
  • District Councilor for the City of Worcester Haxhiaj pulled a political stunt and incited chaos by trying to obstruct law enforcement. ICE officers and local police regained control of the situation and ICE arrested Ferreira de Oliveira
  • The previous administration’s open border policies allowed this criminal to illegally enter our country in August of 2022. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem this criminal is off our streets.

Lies for likes: Influencer claims he was targeted for "political beliefs"

  • Claims that Hasan Piker’s political beliefs triggered a CBP inspection are baseless
  • CBP officers follow the law, not agendas. Upon entering the country, this individual was referred for further inspection—a routine, lawful process that occurs daily, and can apply to any traveler.
  • Once his inspection was complete, he was promptly released.

If you are wondering where the pages that contained the words "excerpt", "Introducing" or other words indicating I was quoting a book have all gone, I migrated all of them over to Posts and Posted them all on August 18 and August 19 2024. I did that so you could use the search widget that is built in to the blog on the upper right hand corner. You will be happy to know that there are more of them than just the batch that were migrated, there were also lots of posts that contained the same words that did not have to be migrated over, they were there all along. I am really enjoying doing introductions and excerpts because it really makes for powerful and fascinating reading when I do them. (Updated 2020 Edition!)

Despite his status as one of the most influential and intelligent Christian authors of the 20th century, C.S. Lewis never thought of himself as a professional theologian. While he was well-read in many types of literary genres, he did not go to Seminary to obtain a Masters in Theology and study a year of Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek. He was not a Pastor who preached sermons to a congregation for many years but a raw, honest philosopher and professor of literature who wrote as well as any Christian of his time could. He had a gift for clearly articulating his perspectives on a variety of issues. Above all, he was humble, in that he had an honest evaluation of both his strengths and his weaknesses. I believe this is one of the main reasons why he is still so enjoyable to read even after all these years. In terms of his theology, Lewis himself said he was an “Anglican but not especially ‘high,’ nor especially ‘low,’ nor especially anything else.” So the theology of C.S. Lewis is not something one can immediately discover by simply perusing a certain book of his to see exactly where he stands on certain doctrinal issues; it is much more subtle and convoluted than that. But in this book, you will find his different thoughts from his many books about certain Christian doctrines and topics pieced together in an easy-to-follow format (Lewis has written nearly 60 books but none of them are on systematic theology). This book offers very clear depictions of his theology concerning subjects such as the doctrine of inspiration, original sin, human depravity, human origins, evolution, intelligent design, theodicy, love and marriage, redemption, grace, new creation, and grief, as his authentic reaction to God after his wife’s death is conveyed. The final chapters also contain all of his greatest quotes arranged and sorted by topic as well as excerpts, quotes, and summaries from most of his books in a quick, easy-to-read, bullet-point format. These last two sections are a particularly great resource to draw from as you can quickly learn about the main points Lewis conveys in his bestselling books.
