This new detention facility expands facility and bed space by the thousands in just days. “Alligator Alcatraz, and other facilities like it, will give us the capability to lock up some of the worst scumbags who entered our country under the previous administration,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. “We will expand facilities and bed space in just days, thanks to our partnership with Florida. Make America safe again.” Below are some of the dangerous criminal illegal aliens arrested by ICE in Florida. These are the types of violent criminal illegal aliens who could end up being detained at Alligator Alcatraz. On May 20, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Santo Villaba-Reyes, an illegal alien from Venezuela, who was convicted of homicide. On February 6, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Alberto Godinez-Lopez, an illegal alien from Guatemala, who was convicted of homicide. On February 7, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Johnny Dieudonne, an illegal alien from Haiti, who was convicted of kidnapping-false imprisonment. On March 1, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Jan Veslino, an illegal alien from the Philippines, who was convicted of obscene communication-traveling to meet a minor for sex. On April 13, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Mauro Gomes-Barbosa, an illegal alien from Brazil, who was convicted of homicide. On March 17, 2025, ICE Miami Paul Urquiza-Orosco, an illegal alien from Peru, who was convicted of producing and distributing child pornography. On June 24, 2025, ICE Miami arrested Mauricio Lopez-Cardona, an illegal alien from Colombia, who was convicted of conspiracy to import cocaine, murder in connection with narcotics trafficking, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and conspiring to support a foreign terrorist organization. # # # DHS Debunks Fake News Media Narratives from June 06/30/2025 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY Office of Public Affairs DHS Debunks Fake News Media Narratives from June From smears about ICE racial profiling to lies about ICE targeting youth shelters, DHS has been holding the media accountable for spreading disinformation to the American people WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a non-exhaustive list of facts, to set the record straight on numerous false and misleading stories that have been dumped by the media and on social media during the month of June.   The fake narratives include:  ICE Facilities are Overcrowding and Inmates are Starving with No Medical Assistance Claims there is overcrowding or subprime conditions in ICE facilities are categorically FALSE.  All detainees are provided with proper meals, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers.  ICE actually has higher detention quality standards than most U.S. detention spaces actual U.S. citizens.  Despite a historic number of injunctions, DHS is working overtime to remove these illegal aliens from detention centers to their final destination: home.  Less than 10% of Immigrants taken into ICE Custody since October had Serious Criminal Convictions FALSE. In President Trump's first 100 days, 70% of ICE arrests were criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges. Secretary Noem has unleashed ICE to target the worst of the worst—including gang members, murderers, and rapists. Claims there is overcrowding or subprime conditions in ICE facilities are categorically FALSE. All detainees are provided with proper meals, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers. ICE actually has higher detention quality standards than most U.S. detention spaces actual U.S. citizens. A Massachusetts High School Illegal Alien was Held in Solitary Confinement Marcelo Gomes, an illegal alien from Brazil, was NOT in solitary confinement. The Burlington facility where he was detained is not even equipped for solitary confinement.  ICE is "Racial Profiling" – Resulting in U.S. Citizens being Arrested Any claims individuals have been "targeted" by law enforcement because of their skin color are disgusting and categorically FALSE. These types of smears are designed to demonize and villainize our brave ICE law enforcement.  This kind of garbage has led to a 500% increase in assaults on ICE officers. Politicians and activists must turn the temperature down and tone down their rhetoric.   DHS enforcement operations are highly targeted, and officers do their due diligence. We know who we are targeting ahead of time.  If and when we do encounter individuals subject to arrest, our law enforcement is trained to ask a series of questions to determine status and removability.  The real reason for the arrest of these U.S. citizens is they ASSAULTED and OBSTRUCTED law enforcement.   Protests in Los Angeles were "Peaceful" Sanctuary politicians and the media have falsely claimed the riots in Los Angeles are "peaceful."  Rioters were throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, defacing public property, setting cars on fire, defacing buildings, assaulting law enforcement, and burning American flags.  DHS Provided No Advance Notice to Los Angeles Police Department Prior to Enforcement The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was notified two days before the ICE operation began in LA – yet it still took LAPD two hours to respond to calls for help from our federal law enforcement on June 6.  During those two hours thousands of rioters gathered outside a federal law enforcement building and assaulted ICE law enforcement officers, slashed tires, defaced buildings and taxpayer funded property.  ICE Targeted Nannies at Parks Claims being spread on social media that ICE has conducted operations at Douglas Park to target and arrest nannies are unequivocally FALSE.  These are the type of lies being spread to demonize our brave ICE law enforcement who risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens including suspected terrorists, gang members, murderers, and rapists from American communities.   The facts are ICE, and our federal partners, are targeting the worst of the worst.  ICE Arrested a 6-Year-old with Leukemia at an LA Immigration Court  The implication that ICE would deny a child the medical care they need is flatly FALSE, and it is an insult to the men and women of federal law enforcement.  This family had chosen to appeal their case —which had already been thrown out by an immigration judge — and will remain in ICE custody until it is resolved.  The child, "N.M.Z," has not required chemotherapy in over a year and is seen regularly by medical professionals while in custody.  Secretary Noem Watched an ICE Raid on the Home of a Pregnant Lady  FALSE. At this house was an illegal alien from Mexico who had previously been deported. His criminal history included drug trafficking and assault.  ICE had a warrant for this illegal alien's arrest.  Border Patrol Dislocated an Illegal Alien's Shoulder  On June 21, Border Patrol Agents arrested an illegal alien who tried to evade law enforcement. The illegal alien ran, then turned and swung a weed whacker directly at an agent's face. He then fled through a busy intersection and raised the weed whacker again at the agent.   The illegal alien refused to comply every step of the way—resisting commands, fighting handcuffs, and refusing to identify himself.  The agents took appropriate action and followed their training to use the minimum amount of force necessary to resolve the situation in a manner that prioritizes the safety of the public and our officers.   Reports officers dislocated his shoulder are FALSE. He was offered medical care which he declined.   DHS Agents Entered UCLA Medical Building  Border Patrol agents apprehended two Iranian nationals unlawfully present in the U.S.—both flagged as subjects of national security interest.  When one experienced a medical emergency, agents immediately contacted EMS and escorted her to the hospital.   Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) presence was only a security precaution to guard the subject receiving medical care—a standard procedure for any individual requiring medical attention.  An "L.A. man" Faced 8 Years in Jail for Spitting on ICE Agent  Omar Pulido-Bastida, is a previously deported Mexican national - NOT a LA man.   He is facing federal assault charges for allegedly SPITTING on an ICE agent.  ICE Tried to Stake-out the Dodgers' Stadium, but were Denied Access  In reality, this had nothing to do with the Dodgers. CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement.  CBP Detained Alistair Kitchen at Los Angeles International Airport for his Political Beliefs  Allegations that Alistair Kitchen was arrested for political beliefs are unequivocally false. The individual in question was denied entry because he gave false information on his ESTA application regarding drug use.   If a traveler violates the terms of their ESTA application, they may be subject to detention and removal. Using the ESTA is a privilege, not a right, and only those who respect our laws and follow the proper procedures will be welcomed.   It is standard practice when a subject is removed from the country, their travel documents and phone are placed into a packet and given to the airline.  ICE Failed to Provide a Pregnant Illegal Alien with Medical Care, Causing a Miscarriage  This reporting is absolutely FALSE. Iris Dayana Monterroso-Lemus had FULL medical, prenatal care, including an ultrasound and OB-GYN visit, dental care, and medication. She was also admitted to a hospital and saw multiple nurses.  As soon as she identified the distress on April 29, ICE provided immediate medical assistance and transferred her to a hospital.  Monterroso-Lemus was arrested twice for child abuse/neglect with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office. She also has an active warrant for homicide in Guatemala.  ICE Targeted Youth Shelters in Florida  Allegations ICE staked out a state-run children's shelter or the offices of the provider of the shelter in the Florida Keys to arrest illegal aliens are FALSE.  The previous administration lost ~300,000 unaccompanied children—many of these innocent children were trafficked and exploited. DHS is now leading efforts to conduct welfare checks on these children to ensure they are safe and not being exploited.  Unlike the previous administration, President Trump and Secretary Noem take the responsibility to protect children seriously and will continue to work with federal law enforcement to reunite children with their families.  ICE Arrested the Wife of a Trump-Supporting Marine Corps Veteran  FALSE. In fact, ICE detained a SERIAL CRIMINAL illegal alien.  Yenifer Correa Ganan's criminal record includes three arrests for assault and violating a protective order.   She entered the U.S. illegally on January 10, 2024, and was RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration.  ICE Arrested a Journalist Known for Covering Immigration  Accusations Mario Guevara was arrested by ICE because he is a journalist are completely FALSE.   Mario Guevera was arrested by Dekalb County, Georgia police for willful obstruction after he refused to comply with local police orders to move out of the middle of the street. Following his arrest by local authorities, ICE placed a detainer on him. Following his release, he was turned over to ICE custody.  This El Salvador national is in ICE custody because he entered the country illegally in 2004.    CBP Denied Entry to a Norwegian over a Meme of the Vice President   Claims Mads Mikkelsen was denied entry because of a JD Vance meme are FALSE.   In reality, Mads Mikkelson's admitted drug use which caused him to be denied.  ICE Agents Laughed at Sobbing a Wife after Detaining her Husband  The facts are on May 19, 2025, ICE arrested Roberto Diego Alvarez Oliva—an illegal alien from Peru who entered the country under President Biden. He had a final order of removal from a judge.  The allegations Alvarez's wife made are FALSE. Alvarez's wife was not even present at the time of the arrest she claims to have witnessed.  Officers exhibited the utmost professionalism and courtesy. They even offered to deliver Alvarez's car keys to his house versus leaving it stranded on the street, since it was the family's only vehicle.  DHS Deported a Father after a Traffic Stop  Hilario Martinez Garcia is a criminal illegal alien whose rap sheet includes domestic violence and felony burglary charges.  Attempts to cast him as sympathetic figure ignore the facts and insult the victims of his crimes. This is 12% lower than the previous record set by President Trump in February 2025. That is 89% lower than the monthly average for years 2021-2024.   Nationwide U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) apprehensions were at 8,039, breaking the previous record from March 2025. This is a dramatic decrease from last June when there 11,414 apprehensions made in just the first 3 days of the month. Along the Southwest Border, USBP apprehensions dropped to 6,070, a 15% decline from March 2025. Last year, in just the first two days of June, Border Patrol had more than 7,000 Southwest Border apprehensions. Notably, on June 28, Border Patrol recorded only 137 apprehensions across the entire Southwest Border—the lowest single-day total in a quarter of a century. Gotaways fell 90% compared to June 2024. And for the second month in a row, USBP reported zero releases—reinforcing the Administration’s commitment to ending catch-and-release policies. “The numbers don’tlie—under President Trump’s leadership, DHS and CBP have shattered records and delivered the most secure border in American history. Just like her terrorist husband, she and her children are here illegally and are rightfully in ICE custody for removal as a result,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “This terrorist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are investigating to what extent his family knew about this heinous attack, if they had knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it.”  Mohamed Sabry Soliman firebombed a pro-Israel demonstration using Molotov cocktails and a homemade flamethrower to attack dozens of demonstrators on June 1. One of those injured, 82-year-old Karen Diamond, died of her injuries on June 25. Soliman now faces over 70 charges, including:  First-degree murder,  First-degree assault,  Committing a hate crime.  After Soliman’s arrest, it was discovered that not only is he in the United States illegally on an expired visa, but his wife and five children were here illegally as well. After being detained by ICE to undergo removal proceedings, U.S. District Court Judge Gordon Gallagher issued a ruling blocking their deportation on June 4.  On July 2, U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia dismissed the lawsuit filed by the family in Dvortsin v. Noem, declaring that “the Court finds that Petitioners’ habeas proceeding and their claims in this case must be and hereby are DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. This case is CLOSED.”  We are continuing to pray for the victims of this attack and their families. Chavez is a Mexican citizen who has an active arrest warrant in Mexico for his involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms, ammunition, and explosives. In August 2023, he entered the country legally with a B2 tourist visa that was valid until February 2024. Chavez is also believed to be an affiliate of the Sinaloa Cartel, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. ICE arrested Chavez in Studio City, California on July 2. On April 2, 2024, Chavez filed application for Lawful Permanent Resident status. Chavez's application was based on his marriage to a U.S. citizen, who is connected to the Sinaloa Cartel through a prior relationship with the now-deceased son of the infamous cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. On December 17, 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services made a referral to ICE that Chavez is an egregious public safety threat. However, an entry in a DHS law enforcement system under the Biden administration indicated Chavez was not an immigration enforcement priority. On January 4, 2025, the Biden administration allowed Chavez to reenter the country and paroled him into the country at the San Ysidro port of entry. Following multiple fraudulent statements on his application to become a Lawful Permanent Resident, he was determined to be in the country illegally and removable on June 27, 2025. "This Sinaloa Cartel affiliate with an active arrest warrant for trafficking guns, ammunition, and explosives was arrested by ICE. It is shocking the previous administration flagged this criminal illegal alien as a public safety threat, but chose to not prioritize his removal and let him leave and COME BACK into our country," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "Under President Trump, no one is above the law—including world-famous athletes. Our message to any cartel affiliates in the U.S. is clear: We will find you and you will face consequences. The days of unchecked cartel violence are over." This criminal illegal alien's rap sheet is below: On January 22, 2012, California Highway Patrol arrested Chavez and charged him with DUI alcohol/drugs and Driving Without a License. On June 23, 2012, the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, convicted Chavez for the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol and sentenced him to 13 days in jail and 36 months' probation. On January 14, 2023, a District Judge issued an arrest warrant for Chavez, for the offense of organized crime for the purpose of committing crimes of weapons trafficking and manufacturing crimes, in the modality of those who participate in clandestinely bringing weapons, ammunition, cartridges, explosives into the country; and those who manufacture weapons, ammunition, cartridges, and explosives without the corresponding permit. On January 7, 2024, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Chavez and charged him with Illegal Possession of Any Assault Weapon and Manufacture or Import Short Barreled Rifle. The court convicted Chavez of these charges. On his first day in office, President Donald J. Trump designated the Sinaloa Cartel as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. The Sinaloa Cartel targeted and viciously murdered U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Nicholas Quets, and has kidnapped, tortured and killed many other Americans. The Sinaloa Cartel has also played a major role in the trafficking of fentanyl across the U.S.-Mexico border. "These sickos will be in South Sudan by Independence Day," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "A win for the rule of law, safety and security of the American people. We thank our brave ICE law enforcement for their sacrifice to defend our freedoms." Below are the individuals ICE is removing from American communities to South Sudan. Enrique Arias-Hierro, a Cuban national, was arrested by ICE on May 2, 2025. His criminal history includes convictions for homicide, armed robbery, false impersonation of official, kidnapping, robbery strong arm. On April 30, 2025, ICE arrested Cuban national, Jose Manuel Rodriguez-Quinones. He has been convicted of attempted first-degree murder with a weapon, battery and larceny, cocaine possession and trafficking. Thongxay Nilakout, a citizen of Laos, was arrested by ICE on January 26, 2025. Nilakout is Convicted of first-degree murder and robbery; sentenced to life confinement. On May 12, 2025, ICE arrested Mexican national, Jesus Munoz-Gutierrez. He is Convicted of second-degree murder; sentenced to life confinement. Dian Peter Domach, a citizen of South Sudan, was arrested by ICE on May 8, 2024. The suspect was neutralized by law enforcement who acted heroically to stop the shooter before there was any loss of life, however three were injured. A McAllen police officer was shot in the leg. Both a Border Patrol officer and Border Patrol employee also sustained injuries. All three were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. This incident is being investigated by CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility in coordination with the FBI. This attack comes as federal law enforcement is facing a staggering surge in assaults and politicians continue to vilify and attack law enforcement. The new policy will increase hospitality for travelers and streamline the TSA security checkpoint process, leading to lower wait times. "Ending the 'Shoes-Off' policy is the latest effort DHS is implementing to modernize and enhance traveler experience across our nation's airports," said Secretary Noem. "We expect this change will drastically decrease passenger wait times at our TSA checkpoints, leading to a more pleasant and efficient passenger experience. As always, security remains our top priority. Thanks to our cutting-edge technological advancements and multi-layered security approach, we are confident we can implement this change while maintaining the highest security standards. Other aspects of TSA's layered security approach will still apply during the TSA checkpoint process. Ending the "Shoes-Off" policy is the latest in a series of changes DHS has implemented since the Trump administration entered office. On July 2nd, TSA announced it's "Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease" program which provides special benefits to uniformed service members and their families, including a TSA PreCheck enrollment discount and expedited access lanes at select airports. This comes after the university repeatedly refused past non-coercive requests to hand over the required information for its Student Visitor and Exchange Program certification. "We tried to do things the easy way with Harvard. Now, through their refusal to cooperate, we have to do things the hard way," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "Harvard, like other universities, has allowed foreign students to abuse their visa privileges and advocate for violence and terrorism on campus. If Harvard won't defend the interests of its students, then we will." Given the allegations of disciplinary disparity involving nonimmigrant students, the documents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) demand that Harvard turn over relevant records, communications, and other documents relevant to the enforcement of immigration laws since January 1, 2020. On April 16, 2025, Secretary Noem demanded Harvard provide information about the criminality and misconduct of foreign students on its campus. Secretary Noem warned refusal to comply with this lawful order would result in SEVP termination. On May 22, she ordered DHS to terminate the Harvard University's Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification. As Secretary Noem explained in a recent op-ed at the Washington Post, Harvard was given multiple chances to submit the requested information voluntarily and on its own timeline. Because of the university's repeated refusals, these subpoenas are the only option left for the Department. Multiple organizations appear to be responsible for doxing these federal officers, including an anarchist and Antifa-affiliated group based in Portland called “Rose City Counter-Info” and another called “The Crustian Daily.” Both of these groups have published the names, pictures, and personal address of ICE officers on their websites. Criminals have posted fliers in officers' neighborhoods, that includes their name, address, pictures of them and their families. These fliers threaten officers with text that says, “NO PEACE FOR ICE” and “CHINGA LA MIGRA” (translation: F**K immigration services). At the same time, an ICE facility in Portland has been under siege. Rioters have attacked law enforcement officials, destroyed federal property, and have posted death threats at the facility. Outside of the facility, graffiti on the sidewalk reads “Kill Your Masters.” Others have trespassed on an official’s personal property, dumping trash on their front lawn and directly threatening this officer by name. Prominent politicians are actively encouraging these attacks by demonizing federal law enforcement, refusing to cooperate with lawful immigration enforcement, and even assaulting law enforcement themselves. In addition, sanctuary cities like Portland prevent local city and state police from working with federal law enforcement. "We cannot allow critical shipbuilding projects to languish over budget and behind schedule. Our Coast Guard needs modern, capable vessels to safeguard our national and economic security, and we will ensure every dollar is spent wisely to achieve that mission. This action redirects resources to where they are most needed, ensuring the Coast Guard remains the finest, most-capable maritime service in the world." As part of that commitment, the Coast Guard is reviewing contracts which are failing to meet delivery agreements. An existing Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) contract with Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) has been slow to deliver four OPCs, harming the U.S.'s defense capabilities and wasting American's hard-earned money. In light of that, Secretary Noem partially canceled ESG's contract for two out of the four OPCs expected from ESG in Panama City, Florida because it was not an effective use of taxpayer money. ESG's delivery of OPC 1 was initially due in June 2023 but will now be completed by the end of 2026 at the earliest. ESG missed its April 2024 delivery for OPC 2. The Coast Guard stopped work on OPCs 3 and 4 after ESG notified the service earlier this year they could not fulfill their contractual duty to deliver all four OPCs without unabsorbable loss. The money saved will redirected to ensure it's actually benefiting the Coast Guard. Due to decades of neglect by previous Administrations and Congress, the Coast Guard has been underfunded, underequipped, and ignored for too long. President Donald Trump is ending that era of neglect with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill and Force Design 2028 – Homeland's plan to transform the Coast Guard into a more agile, capable fighting force. Now, a massive injection of nearly $25 billion is coming to the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard's goal is to procure 25 OPCs — and that has not changed. The Coast Guard remains intent on acquiring and delivering the full OPC class as fast as possible to address the Nation's security and safety needs. The OPC fleet will complement the capabilities of the Service's National Security Cutters, Fast Response Cutters and Polar Security Cutters as an essential element of the Nation's layered maritime security strategy.
