DHS and CISA Announce Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025

Secretary Noem has tasked CISA with leading the charge to secure America's cyberspace

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced the official beginning of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025. This national campaign, administered by CISA, will give partner agencies and the private sector the tools, support, and information they need to secure the vital services fundamental to our civilization: water, power, communications, food, finance, and more. This year's theme is Building a Cyber Strong America, as CISA gets back on mission to be the nation's leading cybersecurity agency.

This campaign engages with all levels of government and businesses big and small. It calls on everyone – state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) governments, small and medium businesses, and entities involved in our supply chains – to take cybersecurity into their own hands to secure the Homeland in a world of constantly-evolving threats.

"Cybersecurity is a critical theater in defending our homeland," said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. "Every day, bad actors are trying to steal information, sabotage critical infrastructure, and use cyberspace to exploit American citizens. Taking down these threats requires a whole-of-society approach, and the reforms we've implemented at CISA have empowered them to work with all of our partners to take down these threats and make America cyber secure again. This Cybersecurity Awareness Month is the time for us to continue our efforts to build a cyber strong America."

Cyber threats never take a day off. CISA and DHS urge every citizen, government entity, and business to remain vigilant and work to neutralize cyber threats before they cause damage.

"Critical infrastructure – whether in the hands of state and local entities, private businesses, or supply chain partners – is the backbone of our daily lives," said Acting CISA Director Madhu Gottumukkala. "Whenever it's disrupted, the effects ripple through communities across America. That's why this year CISA is prioritizing the security and resilience of small and medium businesses, and state, local, tribal, and territorial government (SLTT) that facilitate the systems and services sustain us every day. This includes things like clean water, secure transportation, quality healthcare, secure financial transactions, rapid communications, and more. Together, we must make resilience routine so America stays safe, strong, and secure."

Below are some cybersecurity best practices that you can adopt, right now, to help keep yourself and America safe:

  • Recognize and report phishing: Stop scams before they spread.
  • Require strong passwords: Long, random, unique passwords protect accounts.
  • Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA): Add a vital layer of defense.
  • Update software: Patch known vulnerabilities before attackers exploit them.

Additionally, you can take easy steps to boost your organization's resilience.

  • Enable system logging on your systems: Detect suspicious activity.
  • Back up data: Speed recovery when incidents occur.
  • Encrypt sensitive information: Render stolen data useless by keeping it locked and unreadable. Make encryption part of your security strategy.

This October, DHS and CISA are calling on every sector in the nation to join the mission: Building a Cyber Strong America starts with you.

FEMA Awards Nearly $3.5 Billion to Help States Manage Emergency Preparedness

FEMA is shifting from bloated, DC-centric dead weight to a lean, deployable disaster force that empowers state actors to provide relief for their citizens

WASHINGTON – Today, Secretary Noem announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) returned nearly $3.5 billion of taxpayer dollars back into American communities, empowering state and local leaders to better prepare for emergencies like fires, floods, tornadoes, cyber incidents, and terrorist attacks.

These funds, administered through FEMA’s non-disaster grant programs, empower communities to hire and train firefighters and other first responders, plan for potential cyber disruptions, protect their critical infrastructure like ports and transportation systems, enhance the security of churches and other nonprofits, implement public warning systems, protect themselves against terrorist attacks and transnational crime, and much more. When states, counties, and towns across the country increase their resilience to threats, the entire nation becomes stronger and more secure.

“Secretary Noem is empowering state and local leaders over Washington bureaucrats,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The Biden administration used FEMA as its own personal piggy bank to fund far-left radical organizations, house criminal illegal aliens, and support pseudo-science. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, it is no longer open season the American taxpayer at DHS. The Trump administration is draining the swamp, restoring accountability for FEMA, and putting Americans FIRST in disaster response.”

This announcement comes after a critical evaluation of all grant programs and recipients to root out waste, fraud and abuse and deliver accountability for the American taxpayer. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FEMA worked together to vet grant recipients and ensure that every dollar spent strengthens the nation’s resilience.

Unlike the Biden administration, recipients of grants will no longer be permitted to use federal funds to house illegal immigrants at luxury hotels, fund climate change pet projects, or empower radical organizations with unseemly ties that don’t serve the interest of the American people.

This month, FEMA awarded the following Preparedness Grants:

  • Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (including AFG, FP&S, SAFER)
  • Emergency Management Grant Program
  • Intercity Bus Security Grant Program
  • Intercity Passenger Rail Program
  • Nonprofit Security Grant Program
  • Homeland Security Grant Program (including UASI, OPSG, SHSP)
  • Port Security Grant Program
  • Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program
  • State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program
  • Transit Security Grant Program
  • Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program
  • Tribal Cybersecurity Grant Program

This month, FEMA also awarded the following additional non-disaster grant programs:

  • Community Assistance Program–State Support Services Element
  • Detention Support Grant Program
  • Emergency Food and Shelter Program
  • Homeland Security National Training Program (ASSURE, CTG, NCPC NDPC)
  • National Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Response System
  • National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (Individual and Multistate)
  • National Dam Safety Program
  • Next Generation Warning System
  • Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program

DHS and TSA Expose Targeting of Political Opponents by Former Biden Administration Officials, Refers Case to Congress & Justice Department

Former Biden-era officials abused authority by using TSA watch lists to target political opponents

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the results of an internal investigation uncovering widespread abuses committed by Biden administration officials, who weaponized the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) against innocent American citizens.

These officials, under the direction and leadership of former Biden TSA Administrator David Pekoske, systematically watchlisted and denied boarding to those who exercised their individual rights and resisted mask mandates on airplanes nearly six months after the CDC relaxed its indoor mask mandate.

In an unprecedented act, the Biden TSA then used the January 6, 2021, protests as an excuse to target several dozen U.S. citizens. These Americans were watchlisted and harassed despite there being no evidence of wrongdoing or illegal behavior. This targeted campaign of harassment continued through June 2021, six months after the events in question, despite no clear or immediate threat to aviation security. The campaign also coincided with hundreds of January 6th protestors being locked away by the Biden Department of Justice. These Biden-era officials continued to target Americans even after career intelligence officials and even Biden’s TSA Chief Privacy Officer sounded the alarm over these abusive actions.

The Biden-era TSA’s actions demonstrate clear political bias. For example, these officials chose NOT to flag individuals who attacked law enforcement, burned down cities, and destroyed property during the widespread and violent George Floyd protests in 2020. During this abuse of power, some TSA officials raised serious concerns about these privacy violations and political targeting. They were ignored.

The TSA administrator has legal authority to prevent an individual from boarding an aircraft, task Federal Air Marshals with surveilling an individual, or place them on a watchlist, but it is only intended to be used to track and prevent dangerous criminals and terrorists from carrying out attacks on Americans. Clearly, those targeted by Administrator Pekoske posed no such threat.

These revelations come after another internal investigation discovered that the TSA conducted unwarranted surveillance on now-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard under the Quiet Skies program. At the same time, it granted special privileges to Bill Shaheen, the husband of Democratic New Hampshire Senator, Jeanne Shaheen, who traveled with a Known or Suspected Terrorist multiple times.

Under Secretary Noem’s direction, TSA and DHS:

  • Referred this matter to the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division and to Congress for further investigation.
  • Removed a total of five senior leaders from their positions who betrayed the trust of the American people. This includes the Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support and the Deputy Assistant Administrator for Intelligence and Analysis.
  • Are working with policymakers on Capitol Hill on legislative authorities to ensure these kinds of abuses do not happen again.
  • Are updating internal standard operating procedures and policies to ensure greater oversight.
  • Are reorganizing TSA’s Intelligence & Analysis office to hold senior officials accountable and provide greater oversight on watchlisting operations.

CBP Reports that Drug Seizures Surge Again in August

President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership has consistently led to more drugs being taken off American streets

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security reported a significant uptick in drug seizures in August compared to previous months, demonstrating the Trump Administration’s success in combatting drug trafficking across our borders and keeping deadly drugs out of American communities.

"Secretary Noem and the Department of Homeland Security are fulfilling President Trump’s promise to make America safe again by dismantling drug cartels and stopping the flow of deadly drugs into American communities,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Thanks to President Trump, fewer American families will be torn apart by addiction, fewer lives will be lost to overdoses, and fewer profits will go to violent cartels.”

As part of its mission to stop harmful drugs from entering the United States, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that seizures of deadly drugs – including fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana – increased substantially from July to August. This includes a 37% increase in methamphetamine seizures and amounts to just over 55,000 pounds of drugs seized in August.

August saw the third-highest monthly total of drug seizures under the second Trump Administration.

Likewise, since President Trump took office, fentanyl trafficking at the southern border is down by 56% compared to the same period in 2024. Cartels are increasingly desperate to keep doing business, but the Trump Administration is stopping their deadly operations

Four Criminal Illegal Aliens Arrested After Conducting Laser Strikes on Helicopters in Portland

Two of the criminal illegal alien suspects have prior arrests, including possession of methamphetamine

WASHINGTON Today, in Portland, Oregon, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrests of four criminal illegal aliens who conducted laser strikes on a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter in an attempt to temporarily blind the pilot’s ability to see. This was incredibly dangerous for the aircraft personnel and for the public’s safety.

Aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft is a federal crime, and during the investigation, it was determined the laser came from a nearby residence. A search warrant conducted by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), found four criminal illegal aliens occupying the residence where the laser originated.

These four illegal aliens endangered the lives of our CBP personnel, the safety of every other aircraft in flight during the time AND put everyone on the ground in immediate danger. DHS law enforcement is facing a 1,000% increase in attacks against them,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. This strike happened just days after the terrorist attack on an ICE facility in Dallas and as rioters were arrested with guns outside a Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility with weapons. Secretary Noem has been clear: if you lay a hand on law enforcement you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The following criminal illegal aliens were taken into custody:

Diogenes Albores-Suchiapa

DHS Debunks New York Times False Reporting: DHS Does NOT Deport U.S. Citizens

Make no mistake, if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today sets the record straight, again, about the New York Times false and misleading report alleging DHS is targeting U.S. citizens during targeted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

NYT

“We have said it a million times: ICE does NOT arrest or deport U.S. citizens. One week after the terrorist attack targeting ICE in Dallas, the media is once again shamefully peddling a false narrative, attempting to demonize our DHS law enforcement agents, who are already facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Any U.S. citizens arrested are because of obstructing or assaulting law enforcement.”

The following are some of the FALSE claims made in the New York Times article and the facts from DHS:

FALSE CLAIM: DHS roams the streets, courthouses, and workplaces demanding proof of citizenship from residents.

THE FACTS: DHS enforcement operations are highly targeted and are not resulting in the arrest of U.S. citizens. We do our due diligence. We know who we are targeting ahead of time. If and when we do encounter individuals subject to arrest, our law enforcement is trained to ask a series of well-determined questions to determine status and removability. ICE does not arrest or detain U.S. citizens.

FALSE CLAIM: Detainees are being held in immigration facilities overnight without access to a lawyer or even a phone call.

THE FACTS: Any claim that there are subprime conditions at ICE detention centers are false. In fact, ICE has higher detention standards than most U.S. prisons that hold actual U.S. citizens. All detainees are provided with proper meals, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with lawyers and their family members.

FALSE CLAIM: Kenny Laynez-Ambrosio was innocently detained during a traffic stop.

THE FACTS: On May 2, 2025, several adult male illegal aliens from Guatemala were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents responding to a request for assistance from Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Troopers conducting a vehicle stop near John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach, FL. During the encounter, Kenny Laynez who was part of a group of illegal aliens that resisted arrest during a traffic stop.

FALSE CLAIM: Jason Brian Gavidia was innocently arrested during an immigration enforcement operation.

THE FACTS: Gavidia was arrested for assaulting a law enforcement officer and interfering with agents performing their duties

FALSE CLAIM: Javier Ramirez was driven around for hours and did not speak to a lawyer or any family member for three days.

THE FACTS: Javier Ramirez was detained on the street for investigation for interference and released after being confirmed to be a U.S. citizen with no outstanding warrants.

FALSE CLAIM: George Retes was wrongly arrested and held by ICE.

THE FACTS: As U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and ICE agents were executing criminal search warrants on July 10 at the marijuana sites in Camarillo, CA, George Retes—a U.S. citizen—became violent and refused to comply with law enforcement. He challenged agents and blocked their route by refusing to move his vehicle out of the road. CBP arrested Retes for assault.

FALSE CLAIM: Leonardo Garcia Venegas was wrongfully detained for hours.

THE FACTS: During a targeted worksite operation, Garcia Venegas attempted to obstruct and prevent the lawful arrest of an illegal alien. He physically got in between agents and the subject they were attempting to arrest and refused to comply with numerous verbal commands. Anyone who actively obstructs law enforcement in the performance of their sworn duties, including U.S. citizens, will of course face consequences which include arrest.

DHS Arrests More Than 800 Illegal Aliens Including Worst of the Worst Criminals in Operation Midway Blitz Despite Sanctuary Politicians and Violent Riots

While rioters threaten to “shoot ICE” outside the ICE Broadway Processing Center, law enforcement bravely continues operation arresting gang members, murderers, and rapists, pedophiles, and domestic abusers

The Trump Administration will not allow violent criminals or repeat offenders to terrorize our neighborhoods or victimize our children and innocent Americans,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “We will not allow sanctuary politicians or violent rioters to stop us from enforcing the law and arresting pedophiles, murderers, gang members, rapists, and domestic abusers from American communities.”

Democrats’ Government Shutdown Will Not Slow ICE Down from Arresting the Worst of the Worst Including Pedophiles, Murderers and Human Traffickers

WASHINGTON – Despite the Democrats’ government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will continue arresting the worst of the worst criminals including child abusers, pedophiles, murderers, violent assailants and human traffickers.

“Despite a lapse in funding, ICE will continue to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens including rapists, pedophiles, murderers, gang members and terrorists from our country. Thanks to the Trump Administration’s signature piece of legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill, we will continue to hire, train, and deploy law enforcement across the country to make America safe again,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Democratic politicians have villainized our brave ICE law enforcement calling them the Nazi Gestapo, the Secret Police, and kidnappers, and now they are putting our officers’ families under financial strains. They might put politics first, but we won’t — the deportations will continue. We will continue to put the safety of the American people FIRST.

DHS and FEMA Condemn Judicial Overreach Threatening National Security and Emergency Preparedness

A single activist judge’s decision now threatens Americans across the nation, preventing them from receiving critical FEMA resources

WASHINGTON – A single federal judge is holding the nation’s emergency management funds hostage, risking irreparable harm that could cost lives and cause incalculable damage.

U.S. District Judge Mary S. McElroy has halted the reallocation of $233 million in Homeland Security Grant Program funds from several states, including Illinois and New York. This unprecedented judicial overreach has gutted critical grant programs essential for equipping state and local leaders to combat escalating threats such as wildfires, floods, tornadoes, cyberattacks, and terrorism. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) strongly condemn this activist decision, which undermines America’s safety at a time when resilience and security are non-negotiable.

Under Secretary Kristi Noem’s leadership, DHS and FEMA have returned nearly $3.5 billion in taxpayer dollars to American communities, empowering state and local leaders to strengthen preparedness for emergencies, including fires, floods, tornadoes, cyber incidents, and terrorist attacks. These commonsense reforms, born from a comprehensive review exposing rampant waste, fraud, and abuse in FEMA’s grant programs, have been halted by a rogue judge’s ruling. This decision leaves our nation vulnerable to threats like mass illegal immigration, Foreign Terrorist Organizations, surging antisemitism, and violent extremists. FEMA’s non-disaster grant programs are a lifeline for communities, enabling them to hire and train firefighters, bolster cybersecurity, secure ports and transit systems, protect churches and nonprofits, deploy public warning systems, and shield against terrorism and transnational crime.

Unlike the previous administration, which misused funds to bankroll luxury hotels for illegal immigrants, absurd climate change pet projects, and organizations with anti-American agendas, DHS and FEMA have prioritized efficient, targeted investments to fortify America’s defenses.

“For too long, FEMA’s outdated programs treated taxpayer money like a free-for-all,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS has been relentless in its efforts to eliminate waste and ensure every dollar strengthens our communities. This judicial sabotage threatens the safety of our states, counties, towns, and weakens the entire nation. We will fight to restore these critical reforms and protect American lives.”

DHS and FEMA remain committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used effectively to build a more resilient and secure America. When our communities are battle-ready, the nation stands stronger. We call on the courts to reverse this dangerous decision and allow these vital programs to move forward.

ICE Arrests Armed Criminal Illegal Alien Outside Houston ICE Office with Knife and Crack Pipe

This repeat offender has illegally entered the U.S. five times—a felony—and despite a previous encounter with ICE was released by the Biden Administration

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) yesterday arrested Jose Andres Rodriguez-Torres, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, after he approached the restricted employee parking lot at the ICE Houston Field Office with a knife and crack pipe.

When approached by ICE law enforcement officers, Rodriguez-Torres voluntarily told them he was from Mexico, tensed up and dropped to the ground. While on the ground, officers observed a sheathed knife hanging from his waist and he was taken into custody. During a subsequent search, officers found a glass pipe typically used to smoke crack cocaine in his pocket.

"A criminal illegal alien—released by the Biden Administration and previously removed four times—armed with a knife in a restricted parking lot outside of an ICE office in Houston," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "These are the types of threats and risks our officers face every single day as they work to remove the worst of the worst.  Yesterday alone, there was this incident with the knife outside the Houston facility, and in two separate incidents criminal illegal aliens using cars as weapons against our officers. This violence against federal law enforcement MUST END."

houston2

Rodriguez-Torres has been arrested and removed by U.S. Border Patrol or ICE officials on four different occasions.

  • On Dec. 27, 2012, he illegally entered the U.S. near Tecate, California, and was arrested by the Border Patrol and voluntarily returned to Mexico.
  • On April 14, 2014, he illegally reentered the U.S. for a second time, was arrested by Border Patrol and voluntarily returned to Mexico.
  • On April 22, 2014, he illegally reentered the U.S. for a third time near Rio Grande City, Texas, and was arrested by the Border Patrol and voluntarily returned
  • On April 24, 2014, he illegally entered the U.S. for a fourth time, was arrested by Border Patrol and voluntarily returned to Mexico.

Rodriguez-Torres illegally reentered the U.S. a fifth time—a felony—at an unknown date and location and without inspection by an immigration official. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

On Oct. 30, 2024, he was encountered by ICE officers in Seatle, Washington, following his arrest for burglary, but thanks to Biden's open border policies he was allowed to continue to terrorize Americans.

Despite a 1,000% increase in assaults against our DHS law enforcement officers, they remain steadfast in their mission to enforce the law, defend the homeland, and protect American citizens.

Two Vehicles Used as Weapons Against ICE Officers in Operation Midway Blitz in Separate Incidents Yesterday

The continued anti-ICE rhetoric spewed by Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson contributes to ICE law enforcement facing a more than a 1000% increase in assaults against them

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) condemns violent acts against all federal law enforcement as just yesterday in Illinois criminal illegal aliens used their vehicles as weapons against federal law enforcement.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were targets of two separate vehicular assaults in the Chicago metro area. In Bensenville, Illinois and again in Norridge, IL criminal illegal aliens weaponized their vehicles in deliberate attempts to ram and injure officers carrying out their sworn duty to uphold our nation's immigration laws.

2

"Thankfully none of our law enforcement was killed because of these deranged criminals' attacks on law enforcement. This is exactly what happens when Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and other sanctuary politicians demonize ICE and encourage illegal aliens to resist law enforcement," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "Our ICE law enforcement is facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults—including cars—being used as weapons against them. Secretary Noem has been clear: anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

These back-to-back attacks underscore the dangers ICE law enforcement officers face every day as they remove criminal illegal aliens from American neighborhoods.

3

Miguel Escareno De Loera

In the first assault in Norridge, IL, Miguel Escareno De Loera, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, rammed his vehicle into an ICE law enforcement vehicle twice. He then jumped a curb and crashed his car into a stop sign—ending his violent assault.

Escareno De Loera entered the United States at an unknown date and unknown location, without inspection by an immigration official.

In the second instance, Widman Osberto Lopez-Funes, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, rammed his vehicle into ICE agents during a targeted enforcement operation, and then exited the vehicle and fled into his residence in Bensenville, IL. This criminal illegal alien was later arrested on scene without incident.

Lopez-Funes entered the United States at an unknown date and unknown location, without inspection by an immigration official.

Both criminals will remain in custody pending removal proceedings, and the Administration is pursuing criminal charges for assaulting law enforcement.

DHS will restore law and order and continue to protect American communities from criminal illegal aliens who choose violence.

DHS Releases New Information on Extensive Criminal History of Illegal Alien Ian Roberts who was Working as Iowa School Superintendent

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released new information on criminal illegal alien Ian Andre Roberts, who was serving as Des Moines, Iowa's school district superintendent at the time of his Sept. 26 arrest.

roberts

When U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials approached Roberts, he identified himself then sped off, abandoned his vehicle, and hid in a brushy area about 200 meters away, where ICE officers located him with help from Iowa State Patrol officers. At the time of arrest, a loaded handgun, hunting knife and $3,000 cash were found in his vehicle. On Oct. 2, he was charged with being an illegal alien in possession of firearms.

Roberts' rap sheet and immigration history reveal a long record of criminal conduct in the United States. He should never have been serving in a role overseeing children in Iowa's largest school district.

"Ian Andre Roberts, a criminal illegal alien with multiple weapons charges and a drug trafficking charge, should have never been able to work around children," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "When ICE officers arrested this Superintendent, he was in possession of an illegal handgun, a hunting knife, and nearly $3,000 in cash. Trump Administration Scores Major Supreme Court Legal Victory, Ending de Facto Amnesty Program

The ruling by the Supreme Court ends the protection for 300,000 Venezuelan aliens

WASHINGTON – On Friday, the Supreme Court of the United States granted an emergency request by the Trump administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for over 300,000 Venezuelan aliens in the United States.

In the 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court blocked a ruling by activist U.S. District Judge Edward Chen in the Northern District of California, who tried to pause the TPS cancellation once in March and then again in Septemberultimately getting reversed by the Supreme Court twice

“President Trump is restoring America's immigration system so that it actually benefits the U.S. citizen and today's Supreme Court victory is a win for the American people and commonsense," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. The American people should not have had to go to the Supreme Court twice to see justice done. Temporary Protected Status was always supposed to be just that: Temporary. Yet, previous administrations abused, exploited, and mangled TPS into a de facto amnesty program. Meanwhile, the Biden administration allowed millions of unvetted illegal aliens into our country exacerbating the issue and endangering all Americans. Now, that it’s clear the law and the American people are on our side, Secretary Noem will continue to use every tool at our disposal to prioritize the safety of all U.S. citizens.”

This ruling follows several other major legal victories in the Trump administration’s efforts to scale back the TPS program, including from such countries as Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal.

Vehicles Again Used as Weapon in Attempt to Kill DHS Law Enforcement, Officers Forced to Fire Weapon on Armed Woman

Pritzker's Chicago Police is refusing to assist DHS in securing the area and a crowd is growing

WASHINGTON – This morning, Border Patrol agents were conducting a routine patrol, near the intersection of 39th Place and S. Kedzie Avenue, when they were attacked and rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars. The officers exited their trapped vehicle, when a suspect tried to run them over, forcing the officers to fire defensively. This is an evolving situation. FBI is on the scene.

Statement from Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

"While conducting routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars this morning. Agents were unable to move their vehicle and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fired defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.

"The armed woman was named in a CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents online.

"Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.

"Unfortunately, JB Pritzker's Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a crowd growing and we are deploying special operations to control a growing crowd.

"Comparing ICE day-in and day-out to the Nazi Gestapo, the Secret Police, and slave patrols has consequences. The men and women of ICE and CBP are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, they just want to go home to their families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop. We are praying for our law enforcement and their families. This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available."

Just last week, an internal threat intelligence bulleting was circulated about the armed woman for doxing law enforcement officers online.

Earlier this week, the Department condemned the use of vehicles against law enforcement in the Chicago area, as this has become a growing trend.

UPDATE: DHS Deploys Special Operations After Multiple Violent Attacks on Federal Law Enforcement by Domestic Terrorists in Chicago

Three vehicles used as weapons against our brave law enforcement as they work without pay to make America safe again

WASHINGTON – This morning, Border Patrol law enforcement officers were ambushed by domestic terrorists that rammed federal agents with their vehicles. The woman, Marimar Martinez, driving one of the vehicles, was armed with a semi-automatic weapon and has a history of doxxing federal agents. She took defensive fire from CBP agents and has been discharged from the hospital and is currently in the custody of the FBI.  The driver of another vehicle, Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, involved in the ramming has been apprehended by law enforcement.

1
2

The scene became increasingly violent as more domestic terrorists gathered and began throwing smoke, gas, rocks, and bottles at DHS law enforcement. Another domestic terrorist was arrested for assaulting CBP at the scene. Following JB Prtizker's refusal to allow local police to help secure the scene, Secretary Noem has deployed special operations teams to restore law and order.

As our ICE law enforcement was responding to the shooting, a domestic terrorist followed them and rammed their vehicle in an attempt to run them off the road. This individual has also been arrested and is in HSI custody.

An ICE vehicle popped a tire and was subsequently mobbed by domestic terrorists, forcing law enforcement to abandon the vehicle for their own safety. The vehicle was significantly damaged.

Several CBP law enforcement officers were sent to the hospital with various injuries.

Statement from Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

"These attacks on our brave law enforcement officers must END. Secretary Noem has taken action to deploy additional resources to restore law and order. We will not allow domestic terrorists to attack our law enforcement. If you law a hand on law enforcement, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

ICYMI: ICE and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Arrests 91 Illegal Aliens Driving 18-Wheelers on Highways in Successful Three Day Action on I-40

ICYMI: ICE and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Arrests 91 Illegal Aliens Driving 18-Wheelers on Highways in Successful Three Day Action on I-40

In just three days, ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers arrested 120 illegal aliens in a targeted public safety operation

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today released the following statement on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s (OHP) successful three-day crack down on targeted threats to public safety along I-40 in Oklahoma. This operation was made possible by Oklahoma's 287(g) partnership.

The action took place between September 22 and 25, 2025. ICE ran records checks on foreign-born nationals that OHP encountered during patrol. As a result, 120 illegal aliens were taken into custody for immigration violations, 91 of which were operating a commercial motor vehicle with commercial driver licenses (CDL). Two illegal aliens were also arrested from a nearby marijuana grow operation.

Criminal activity associated with the 120 illegal aliens includes prior convictions for:

  • Multiple DUIs
  • Illegal re-entry into the U.S.
  • Money laundering
  • Human smuggling
  • Assault
  • Conspiracy to distribute cocaine
  • Procession of a controlled substance

“ICE’s 287(g) program clearly demonstrates how federal and local law enforcement agencies can work together to make America safe again,” said Madison Sheahan, ICE Deputy Director. “Illegal aliens have no business operating 18 wheelers on America’s highways. Our roads are now safer with these illegal aliens no longer behind the wheel. We encourage more state and local law enforcement to sign 287(g) agreements to help remove public safety threats and receive reimbursement funds available to our law enforcement partners.”

In September, Marcus Coleman spoke out about ICE’s arrest of an illegal alien who caused a multi-vehicle wreck while driving an 18-wheeler in California, leaving his 5-year-old daughter, Dalilah with critical, life altering injuries.

“My daughter and family’s lives have been forever changed by the injuries and car crash that an illegal alien driving an 18-wheeler caused,” said Marcus Coleman. “I’m proud to see ICE officers working together with highway patrol across the U.S. to protect our roads from criminal illegal aliens who pose a danger to Americans. Illegal aliens should not be driving 18-wheelers on our highways, and neither should 18-year-olds or drivers who lack experience. Governor Newsom’s California Department of Motor Vehicles needs to put in place stricter standards for who can obtain a commercial driver's license before more people are killed and hurt.”

In August, ICE lodged an arrest detainer for a criminal illegal alien—Harjinder Singh— following his arrest for three counts of vehicular homicide while driving a semi-truck in Florida

DHS law enforcement is protecting American communities every day from another senseless tragedy like this taking place in another town, to another family. Victims of illegal alien crime may receive support from the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office by contacting 1-855-488-6423.

Despite Multiple Vehicle Attacks by Domestic Terrorists, DHS Law Enforcement Arrests Worst of Worst including a TdA gang member, Drug Traffickers, Child Abusers, and Other Violent Thugs in Chicago

DHS will not let violence from domestic terrorists and lawless rioters in Chicago slow us down from fulfilling the President's mandate to arrest the worst of the worst

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today released the following information about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrests of the worst of the worst in Chicago, Illinois over the weekend despite violent attacks by domestic terrorists against our law enforcement.

“Our brave men and women of law enforcement are being targeted and attacked by violent anarchists who seek to tear down America,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “I want each and every member of law enforcement to know this: President Trump and I have your backs. We stand with ICE as they continue to protect and defend our homeland.”

Below are some of the dangerous criminals ICE and CBP bravely arrested in Chicago over the weekend as they protect American communities from the crime that sanctuary policies allow:

s1

Wilmer Alexander Gonzalez Garaban, a criminal illegal alien and confirmed Tren de Aragua gang member from Venezuela with a criminal history of theft and resisting an officer.

s2

Ricardo Gervasio-Gervasio, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has convictions for cocaine possession, driving under the influence of liquor and dangerous drugs.

3

Pedro Navajas-Contreras, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has three prior convictions for driving under the influence.

S4

Uriel Alvarez-Meneses, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has eight prior convictions, including multiple driving under the influence and traffic offenses and a prior hit-and-run charge.

s5

Luis Arroyo-Telles, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has convictions for fraud, licensing violation and cruelty toward a child.

s6

Jorge Mario Ramirez-Lopez, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, who has a conviction for larceny.

s7

Arturo Guzman, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has convictions for drug trafficking and selling amphetamines and has illegally re-entered the U.S. twice, a felony.

s8

Abrahan Alfonzo Jimenez Rodriguez, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, with charges for resisting an officer, vehicle theft, aggravated assault with a weapon, obstructing justice and aggravated assault with a gun.

Secretary Noem launched Operation Midway Blitz on September 8. On October 3, DHS announced that ICE and CBP officers reached more than 1,000 arrests since the operation began. Midway Blitz was launched in honor of Katie Abraham who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run car wreck caused by criminal illegal alien.

DHS Debunks Governor Pritzker’s Harmful Lies About Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago, Federal Law Enforcement

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker continues to spread the same lies and hateful rhetoric that have contributed to a more than 1000% increase in assaults against our brave ICE law enforcement

WASHINGTON – Between an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union and a Monday afternoon press conference, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker repeatedly lied about federal law enforcement operations in Chicago.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is setting the record straight about Pritzker’s lies and defending the brave men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from his smears and slander.

“Our message to JB Pritzker: Get out of your mansion and see Chicago,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “If J.B. Pritzker actually walked the streets of his own city, he would see domestic terrorists and violent rioters attacking police officers and the scourge of violent crime as a direct result of his own policies.”

A Smorgasbord of Lies

Below are just a few of the lies told by Governor Pritzker recently.

CLAIM: "This is an unconstitutional invasion of Illinois by the federal government. For weeks now, Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and Gregory Bovino have brought their militarized CBP and ICE agents to the streets of Chicago to cause violence and chaos in this city."

REALITY: This is neither unconstitutional nor an invasion. President Trump has the authority under the Constitution to deploy troops, wherever they’re stationed, to defend federal facilities from attacks. Whether it’s the ICE facility in Broadview or the courthouse in Portland, we will defend federal property wherever they are under siege.

CLAIM: “They’re raiding neighborhoods, where, instead of going after bad guys, they’re just picking up people who are brown and black and then checking their credentials.”

REALITY: Since Operation Midway Blitz began in Illinois last month, ICE and CBP officers have arrested more than 1,000 illegal aliens – including the worst of the worst pedophiles, child abusers, kidnappers, gang members, and armed robbers. We have also arrested multiple members of the gang Tren de Aragua, and illegal aliens with criminal histories that include drug trafficking, child rape, and murder, among other violent convictions.

Allegations that DHS law enforcement officers engage in “racial profiling” are disgusting, reckless, and categorically FALSE. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity. Under the fourth amendment of the U.S. Constitution, DHS law enforcement uses “reasonable suspicion” to make arrests. There are no “indiscriminate stops” being made. The Supreme Court recently vindicated us on this question. DHS enforces federal immigration law without fear, favor, or prejudice.

CLAIM:People are getting detained, they’re getting arrested: U.S. Citizens. They did this when they raided a building in the middle of the night in South Shore. 130 people, they were emptied out of this building. They were going after a few gangbangers, and instead, they broke windows, they broke down doors, they ransacked the place...They are the ones that are making it a war zone.”

REALITY: Law enforcement conducted a targeted operation at an apartment building in the South Shore community of Chicago. This operation, conducted by the CBP, the FBI, and the ATF, resulted in the arrest of 37 illegal aliens, from such countries as Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, and Nigeria. Among them were Tren de Aragua gang members and violent criminals.

DHS has routinely debunked the absurd claim that DHS is targeting U.S. citizens during ICE operations. ICE does not arrest or deport U.S. citizens. Any U.S. citizens arrested are because of obstructing or assaulting law enforcement.

CLAIM: “There were people who were held, elderly people, and children zip-tied, elderly people held for three hours at a time.”

REALITY: “Children were never zip tied. This is a shameful and disgusting lie,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Why is the sitting Governor so unconcerned with criminal illegal aliens living among innocents in his city?”

The claim that a toddler was zip-tied originated from a screenshot that went viral, with the original poster claiming it showed an ICE officer zip-tying a child. This has been debunked: The screenshot in question was from a parody video on TikTok for entertainment, where the officer in the video was the father of the toddler seen in the image.

Bill Melugin tweet

The hoax that went viral vs. the original video, which was a comedic parody.

CLAIM: “On September 12, ICE shot and killed a man in Franklin Park, a nearby suburb of Chicago. His name was Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez. Reports say that he had just dropped his kids off at a daycare and was headed to work.”

REALITY: Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez was an illegal alien who, when law enforcement ordered him to stop his car, instead drove his car at the officers. One of the ICE officers was hit by the car and dragged a significant distance. Fearing for his own life and broader public safety, the officer fired his weapon. Despite his injuries, the officer and his partner immediately started administering emergency medical care to the illegal alien, who was pronounced dead. Villegas-Gonzalez, who was the target of the operation, was a criminal illegal alien with a history of reckless driving.

CLAIM: “In the small suburban village of Broadview, with a population of 8,000, federal agents have turned two blocks of protest areas into a warzone, by firing tear gas and chemical agents at peaceful protesters.”

REALITY: Rioters against DHS and other law enforcement in Illinois have been anything but peaceful. Over the weekend, Border Patrol law enforcement officers were ambushed by domestic terrorists that rammed federal agents with their vehicles.

One woman, Marimar Martinez, driving one of the vehicles, was armed with a semi-automatic weapon and has a history of doxxing federal agents. She took defensive fire from CBP agents, has been discharged from the hospital, and is currently in the custody of the FBI. The driver of another vehicle, Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, involved in the ramming, has been apprehended by law enforcement.

CLAIM: Peaceful protesters have been hit with tear gas and shot with rubber bullets. Journalists simply reporting the facts on the ground have been targeted and arrested. Us citizens, including children, have been traumatized and detained. This escalation of violence is targeted and intentional and premeditated. The Trump Administration is following a playbook, cause chaos, create fear and confusion.

REALITY: The First Amendment protects speech and peaceful assembly – not rioting. DHS is taking reasonable and constitutional measures to uphold the rule of law and protect our officers.

ICE officers are facing a nearly 1000% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, rapists, and gang members. We remind members of the media to exercise caution as they cover these violent riots and remind journalists that covering unlawful activities in the field does come with risks — though our officers take every reasonable precaution to mitigate those dangers to those exercising protected First Amendment rights.

Lowest Fiscal Year for Border Patrol Apprehensions Since 1970

FY 2025 Total of 237,565 Southwest Border Apprehensions Marks a 55-Year Low

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced preliminary enforcement numbers for September 2025, closing out Fiscal Year 2025 with the lowest U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions since 1970, This feat is a testament to the Trump Administration’s success in restoring control at the border— despite the handicap of more than three months of Biden’s open-border chaos at the start of the fiscal year.

“We have had the most secure border in American history and our end of year numbers prove it. We have shattered multiple records this year and once again we have broken a new record with the lowest number of Southwest border apprehensions in 55 years,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. “Under President Trump, we have empowered and supported our law enforcement to do their job and they have delivered.”

  • Southwest Border Apprehensions: 237,565 — the lowest fiscal year total in 55 years, compared to 201,780 in Fiscal Year 1970, and 87 percent below the average of the last four fiscal years which was 1.86 million.
  • Most encounters happened under the previous administration: 172,026 apprehensions — 72 percent of the total — occurred during the under the Biden Administration during the first 111 days of the fiscal year. Over the next 254 days, this administration recorded 65,539 apprehensions, accounting for just 27 percent of the year’s total.
  • Nationwide Encounters: 26,000 — down from 26,191 in August 2025 and 89 percent lower than the monthly average under the last administration.
  • Southwest Border Daily Average Apprehensions: 279 per day in September — fewer in an entire day now than in just two hours under the last administration, and 95 percent lower than the last administration’s daily average of 5,110 from February 2021 through December 2024.
  • Releases: September marked the fifth consecutive month with ZERO releases by the Border Patrol along the southwest border, compared to 9,144 releases in September 2024.

The full, finalized reports with end of fiscal year numbers will be released in the coming weeks

Criminal Illegal Alien Responsible for Killing University of South Carolina Student Nate Baker in Hit and Run Receives Just 1-Year Sentence, ICE Vows to Remove Him Following His Prison Sentence

ICE lodged an arrest detainer for the criminal illegal alien to ensure he is removed immediately following his one-year prison sentence

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today released the following statement after the criminal illegal alien responsible for the hit-and-run killing of University of South Carolina Student Nate Baker received only a one-year sentence.

On April 2, 2025, Rosali Fernandez-Cruz, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, struck and killed Baker as he was riding a motorcycle in Richland County, South Carolina near his school campus. He fled the scene of the accident and did not try to render first aid.

Nate Baker

“21-year-old USC student Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Baker was driving a motorcycle when he was hit by a truck driver who fled the scene. The hit-and-run driver, Rosali Isaac Fernandez-Cruz, was in our country illegally and received just 1 year in prison for taking Nate’s precious life. ICE lodged a detainer to ensure as soon as this killer completes his one-year prison sentence that ICE is notified to arrest him and get him OUT of our country,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Nate was a 21-year-old college student with his whole life in front of him. This monster should never have been in our country and has had a final order of removal since 2018.

Fernandez-Cruz

DHS Condemns Dangerous Doxxing and Escalating Threats Against Federal Law Enforcement Officers

WASHINGTON — Following a weekend of domestic terrorists attacking federal law enforcement officers, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is calling for sanctuary politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement. Our officers are facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults against them and their families are being doxxed and threatened online.

Harassment at home: In September, three women were indicted by a federal grand jury for livestreaming their pursuit of an ICE agent to his home and then posting the victim’s home address on Instagram. Upon arriving at the law enforcement officer’s home, they began shouting “neighbor is ICE,” “la migra lives here,” and “ICE lives on your street and you should know.”

Direct threats to families: In Texas, an ICE officer’s spouse received a call saying, “I don’t know how you let your husband work for ICE, and you sleep at night. F*** you, f*** your family. I hope your kids get deported by accident. How do you sleep? F*** you. Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II? Because it’s what’s going to happen to your family.”

When agents and their families are identified, they receive violent threats in their messages and even death threats. One agent’s spouse was sent this Facebook message by Robert Buckley of Lakeville, Massachusetts: “Your husband, the ICE man is a f*** and retribution will come your way eventually.”

1

Doxxing online: An investigation by the ICE Office of Professional Responsibility in San Diego led to the arrest of Gregory John Curcio, 68, who is accused of doxxing an ICE attorney by posting her personal information online and urging others to harass her. Court documents allege in February 2025, Curcio posted the attorney’s home address to social media and directed others to “swat” her; a tactic involving false emergency calls to provoke an armed law enforcement response. The documents further allege he used multiple accounts and conducted a harassment campaign against the attorney and her family dating back to January 2024.

Houston Halloween display: Effigies of ICE agents dressed in black shirts with red hats were hung from homemade gallows with zip ties in their pockets. The display, surrounded by coffins, barbed wire, and featuring a Mexican flag, was a mock execution ground.

2

You can report doxing and harassment against ICE officers by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or by completing ICE’s online tip form.

“These type of threats against our brave ICE law enforcement officers and their families are disgusting. These officers risk their lives every day to arrest murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members from our communities. Comparing ICE day-in and day-out to the Nazi Gestapo, the Secret Police, and slave patrols has consequences,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The men and women of ICE and CBP are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, they just want to go home to their families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop.”

ICE Law Enforcement Officers, Working Without Pay, Continue Arresting the Worst of the Worst Criminal Illegal Aliens Including Pedophiles, Sexual Abusers and Firearm Wielding Assailants

The Democrats’ government shutdown is causing our law enforcement officers to work without pay as they remove violent criminals from American communities

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers continue to keep our streets safe and arrest the worst of the worst from American communities despite working without pay because of the Democrats’ government shutdown.

“We are not letting the Democrats’ government shutdown slow us down from arresting the worst of the worst from American communities,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Some of the scumbags arrested yesterday have convictions for aggravated sexual assault of a child, gross sexual imposition, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, assault causing bodily injury, and unlawful and illegal possession of a firearm. These are not people you want in your neighborhood. ICE law enforcement officers, without pay because of the Democrats’ government shutdown, are risking their lives to arrest the worst of the worst.”

Worst of the worst arrests yesterday across the country include:

1

Rubio Ramirez-Zabaleta, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Brazos County, Texas.

2

Jose Ruben Gomez-Munoz, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted for gross sexual imposition in Mandan, North Dakota.

3

Walner Josue Alvarado-Sabonje, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, convicted for possession of a firearm or ammunition by an alien illegally and unlawfully in the United States in the Middle District of Florida.

4

Sergio Montano-Zaragoza, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of assault with semiautomatic firearm in San Mateo, California.

5

Jesus Adorno-Garcia, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of assault causing bodily injury/enhanced family violence in Austin, Texas.

DHS Celebrates Purchase of New Coast Guard Icebreakers as President Trump Signs Deal with Finland

The agreement will help reassert the United States’ maritime dominance in the Arctic region

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem joined President Trump in the Oval Office as he signed a historic agreement with Finland for the United States to purchase new icebreakers — ships designed to break through and navigate ice-covered waters — critical for protecting America’s interests in the Arctic.

President Trump and his Finnish counterparts – President Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo – signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday for the United States to purchase Arctic Security Cutters (ASCs) for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).

“America has been an arctic nation for over 150 years, and we’re finally acting like it under President Trump. Our adversaries continue to look to grow their presence in the Arctic; equipping the Coast Guard with Arctic Security Cutters will help reassert American maritime dominance there,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. Revitalizing the U.S. Coast Guard’s icebreaking capabilities is crucial for our security and prosperity, and today's agreement is an important step in that direction.”

“Under President’s Trump leadership, this historic agreement will not only accelerate delivery of new Arctic Security Cutters but will also spur future opportunities for domestic shipbuilding,” said Adm. Kevin Lunday, Acting Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. “With a strong icebreaker fleet, the Coast Guard will protect America’s sovereignty and interests against global threats in the Arctic for decades to come.”

Under the MOU, Finland will construct four ASCs for the U.S Coast Guard. U.S. shipyards will then build and deliver up to seven additional vessels.

With these Arctic Security Cutters (ASCs) the Coast Guard will have much greater ability to navigate and patrol frozen Arctic waters — allowing them to keep trade routes open, secure U.S. borders and maritime approaches in the region, and protect the Homeland from dangerous adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party.

This bold, new strategy leverages the deep experience and established infrastructure of an allied partner to minimize cost and schedule risks and establish the shortest feasible path to delivery so that the United States can protect vital American interests in the polar regions.

Thursday’s MOU is the latest initiative that builds on the historic ICE Pact — a partnership and agreement between the United States, Finland, and Canada — that enables all three signatories to dramatically step up icebreaker development, construction, and delivery by combining their collective knowledge, resources, and expertise to secure America’s arctic interests.

Since President Trump issued his Executive Order Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance, Finland has strategically teamed with shipbuilders in America to grow United States’ icebreaker production capacity. These strategic teaming arrangements will deliver icebreakers at-speed while creating longstanding economic opportunities for the American workforce and additional shipbuilding capacity for the Nation.

These critical new national security assets are funded by President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which includes $3.5 billion for the Coast Guard to procure Arctic Security Cutters.

ICE Arrest Illegal Alien Driving an 18-Wheeler with New York Commerical Driver’s License Issued to “No Name”

DHS is working with Department of Transportation, state and local partners to get illegal alien truck drivers off our highways

WASHINGTONThe U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced the arrest of an illegal alien, Anmol Anmol, who was issued a commercial driver's license (CDL) by the state of New York to “No Name Given Anmol.”

1

On September 23, 2025, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol encountered Anmol during a routine inspection at a truck scale on I-40. Record checks conducted by ICE revealed Anmol is an illegal alien from India. ICE arrested him and placed him in removal proceedings.

He entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 and was released by the Biden administration into the country.

1

The arrest was part of a successful three-day enforcement operation on targeted threats to public safety along I-40 in Oklahoma. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s operation was made possible by Oklahoma's 287(g) partnership.

“Allowing illegal aliens to obtain commercial driver’s licenses to operate 18-wheelers and transport hazardous materials on America’s roads is reckless and incredibly dangerous to public safety. Thanks to the successful 287g partnership of ICE and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Anmol Anmol is no longer posing a threat to drivers,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “New York is not only failing to check if applicants applying to drive 18-wheelers are U.S. citizens but even failing to obtain the full legal names of individuals they are issuing commercial drivers’ licenses to. DHS is working with our state and local partners to get illegal alien truck drivers who often don’t know basic traffic laws off our highways.”

In September, Marcus Coleman spoke out about ICE’s arrest of an illegal alien who caused a multi-vehicle wreck while driving an 18-wheeler in California, leaving his 5-year-old daughter, Dalilah with critical, life altering injuries. In August, ICE lodged an arrest detainer for a criminal illegal alien—Harjinder Singh— following his arrest for three counts of vehicular homicide while driving a semi-truck in Florida.

DHS law enforcement is protecting American communities every day from another senseless tragedy like this taking place in another town, to another family. Victims of illegal alien crime may receive support from the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office by contacting 1-855-488-6423.

ICE Lodges Arrest Detainer for Convicted Child Rapist the Biden Administration Marked as a ‘Non-Enforcement’ Priority in Virginia

This criminal illegal alien from El Salvador was convicted of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl after he was hired to renovate the family's bathroom

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer against a 35-year-old criminal illegal alien from El Salvador who was convicted of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old child in Virginia. ICE lodged the detainer against Ricardo Leonel Mejia who was sentenced to 30 years in prison following his conviction.

“Ricardo Leonel Mejia’s crimes are unthinkable. This monstrous individual repeatedly raped an 11-year-old child in her own home,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure that after his prison sentence, he is removed from our country and not able to prey on any more innocent American children. The Biden Administration marked this heinous criminal as a non-enforcement priority—allowing him to roam free and commit these child sex crimes. These are the type of depraved criminals, our brave ICE law enforcement officers are arresting and removing from our country every single day.”

Ricardo Leonel Mejia

Mejia, who was hired to renovate a Virginia family’s bathroom committed the crimes against the child on three different occasions. He was convicted for three counts of rape of a child under the age of 13 and breaking into the home.

Mejia had been convicted on four separate occasions for traffic offenses, including driving without a license and driving on a suspended license three times.

Under the previous administration, an immigration judge terminated Mejia’s removal proceedings on July 25, 2023, after he was marked as a non-enforcement priority. This allowed him to indefinitely remain in the U.S. illegally.  He entered the country illegally at an unknown data and location.

President Trump and Secretary Noem will not allow criminal aliens to walk freely on U.S. streets. ICE will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing alien offenders from the United States.

ICE Lodges Arrest Detainers for Criminal Illegal Aliens Charged in Virginia Highway Shooting

The two 17-year-olds in local police custody entered the U.S. as unaccompanied minors under the Biden Administration in 2022

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged arrest detainers against two criminal illegal aliens from Honduras for their involvement in a highway shooting in Virginia along I-295 on October 5, 2025.

Police were alerted of shots fired around 5 p.m. when a 911 caller reported possible gunfire along Interstate 295 northbound near the Creighton Road exit at mile marker 34.

A Hanover County Sheriff's deputy who was conducting a nearby traffic stop on the interstate observed a silver BMW matching the suspect description traveling northbound on I-295. When the deputy pulled onto the interstate, the BMW sped off, prompting a police pursuit. The Virginia State Police were called to assist with the investigation.

The two 17-year-olds were arrested. According to public records, the criminal illegal aliens have been charged with shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm under age 18, possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, and reckless handling of a firearm.

ICE officers lodged arrest detainers with the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center in Williamsburg, where the pair is currently being held in custody.

“These criminal illegal alien thugs whipped around in their BMW with complete neglect for the safety of Virginians when they decided to open fire on an interstate highway,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “These illegal aliens were released unvetted by the Biden Administration into our country. ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure these public safety threats are not released back onto Virginia’s roads. We are not going to allow criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens.”

Both of these criminal illegal aliens entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 as unaccompanied children and were released in the U.S. by the Biden Administration.

Chicago Rioter with Suspected Ties to Antifa Arrested with Firearm and Four Magazines Outside ICE Broadview Facility

This violent rioter is a journalist and teacher at the University of Illinois; social media posts glorify violence against federal law enforcement

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the Sept. 26 arrest of Elias Cepeda, a violent rioter with suspected ties to Antifa and previous social media posts calling ICE Nazis, outside the ICE Broadview facility. He was carrying a loaded firearm and multiple rounds of ammunition. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), federal partners supporting Operation Midway Blitz, seized the gun.

Magazines

According to his Linked-in, he is a journalist and is college professor at the University of Illinois.

Elias Cepeda

Elias Cepeda has suspected ties to the domestic terrorist organization ANTIFA and has a history of glorifying violence against—and the killing of—our brave law enforcement,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Violent individuals like Cepeda are putting the public and our law enforcement’s lives in danger. Just two days after the horrific attack on ICE in Dallas, Cepeda brought a loaded gun and multiple magazines to our ICE Broadview facility. Thank God law enforcement intervened and arrested Cepeda before he could have potentially shot or killed anyone. Let this serve as a stark warning to any individual who wishes to do our law enforcement harm or any ANTIFA terrorist: President Trump and Secretary Noem will fight every day to protect and defend the men and women who keep our country safe from violent extremists and criminal illegal aliens alike.”

Below are some of the most radical X posts from this suspected Antifa terrorist, which include multiple Antifa posts and posts calling ICE nazis and calling for killing of ICE officers.

ICE Arrests Illegal Alien Cambodian 'Asian Boys' Gang Member Suspected of Murdering Woman in TX and Wanted for Another Murder in CA

ICE Arrests Illegal Alien Cambodian ‘Asian Boys’ Gang Member Suspected of Murdering Woman in TX and Wanted for Another Murder in CA

Seng is also wanted in California murder and has been convicted of burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence

WASHINGTON The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today issued the following statement about the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest of Savin Seng, a criminal illegal alien from Cambodia and Asian Boys gang member wanted for the murder of a woman in Victoria, Texas and a murder outside of a strip club in California.

Seng Mugshot

On October 3, ICE arrested Seng following a brief manhunt after he allegedly murdered a woman in Victoria, Texas. During the arrest, authorities found a loaded firearm and an extra 32-round magazine in Seng’s possession, and he was referred for federal prosecution for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm, which is a felony, in addition to being charged with homicide by the state.

Seng Weapon

Seng is also wanted in California for allegedly murdering a man outside a North Hills strip club in 2022 and has been convicted of several other criminal offenses in the U.S., including two convictions for burglary and one conviction each for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and domestic violence.

Savin Seng’s multiple victims across California and Texas should be alive today—but this depraved criminal illegal alien and Asian Boys gang member savagely took their lives,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “This serial criminal wreaked havoc across multiple states and was on the run before ICE law enforcement officers arrested him. President Trump and Secretary Noem are not going to allow gang members to terrorize American citizens. Our message is clear: criminal illegal aliens should LEAVE NOW. If not, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you very well could end up in CECOT or a third country.”

Seng was admitted into the U.S. in 1984 but was ordered removed by an immigration judge in April 2016. He has remained in the U.S. illegally for nearly a decade.

The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Victoria Police Department assisted in the arrest.

If you are wondering where the pages that contained the words "excerpt", "Introducing" or other words indicating I was quoting a book have all gone, I migrated all of them over to Posts and Posted them all on August 18 and August 19 2024. I did that so you could use the search widget that is built in to the blog on the upper right hand corner. You will be happy to know that there are more of them than just the batch that were migrated, there were also lots of posts that contained the same words that did not have to be migrated over, they were there all along. I am really enjoying doing introductions and excerpts because it really makes for powerful and fascinating reading when I do them. In Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church, top-selling author and Anglican bishop, N.T. Wright tackles the biblical question of what happens after we die and shows how most Christians get it wrong. We do not “go to” heaven; we are resurrected and heaven comes down to earth--a difference that makes all of the difference to how we live on earth. Following N.T. Wright’s resonant exploration of a life of faith in Simply Christian, the award-winning author whom Newsweek calls “the world’s leading New Testament scholar” takes on one of life’s most controversial topics, a matter of life, death, spirituality, and survival for everyone living in the world today. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

(Updated 2020 Edition!)

Despite his status as one of the most influential and intelligent Christian authors of the 20th century, C.S. Lewis never thought of himself as a professional theologian. While he was well-read in many types of literary genres, he did not go to Seminary to obtain a Masters in Theology and study a year of Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek. He was not a Pastor who preached sermons to a congregation for many years but a raw, honest philosopher and professor of literature who wrote as well as any Christian of his time could. He had a gift for clearly articulating his perspectives on a variety of issues. Above all, he was humble, in that he had an honest evaluation of both his strengths and his weaknesses. I believe this is one of the main reasons why he is still so enjoyable to read even after all these years. In terms of his theology, Lewis himself said he was an “Anglican but not especially ‘high,’ nor especially ‘low,’ nor especially anything else.” So the theology of C.S. Lewis is not something one can immediately discover by simply perusing a certain book of his to see exactly where he stands on certain doctrinal issues; it is much more subtle and convoluted than that. But in this book, you will find his different thoughts from his many books about certain Christian doctrines and topics pieced together in an easy-to-follow format (Lewis has written nearly 60 books but none of them are on systematic theology). This book offers very clear depictions of his theology concerning subjects such as the doctrine of inspiration, original sin, human depravity, human origins, evolution, intelligent design, theodicy, love and marriage, redemption, grace, new creation, and grief, as his authentic reaction to God after his wife’s death is conveyed. The final chapters also contain all of his greatest quotes arranged and sorted by topic as well as excerpts, quotes, and summaries from most of his books in a quick, easy-to-read, bullet-point format. These last two sections are a particularly great resource to draw from as you can quickly learn about the main points Lewis conveys in his bestselling books.
