It's easy for us to think that our verse today applies to others, and it does, but we seldom point to that Scripture and say "that applies to me." We can lie about our past or about our future. We can look into the past and say, "I should have …." We beat ourselves up, or in some instances hold ourselves down, because of things that we think should have been different in the past. If we believe God is a God of forgiveness (and the Bible does say that's true), then He loves us and cares for us in this moment, and the past is the past. Your future hasn't happened yet, and you can get lost saying this is going to happen or that is going to happen, but why? When you do that, you're lying about things you have no control over. Instead, you can trust God today and live in the moment, in the Power of Now. You can have a vision of where you are headed but learn to live in the moment. And that begins by telling yourself the truth.
Today's One Thing
Are you living in the moment, or looking to the past or future? What things do you need to tell yourself the truth about so that you can let go and trust God for today? Make a list and talk to God about those things.
