Dear Friend, You’ve been affected in some way, as everyone has. The pandemic has been hard — even for those who were once strong … healthy … well-off.... But the impact on those who were already weak and struggling, like troubled young people — it’s been a nightmare! Every day, online, we hear their cries for help:
- “Feeling alone from the quarantine … I just feel so sad lately.”
- “It’s gotten so bad since everyone's locked in the house. My mom gets mad at everything I do…”
- “Feeling really hopeless, and like maybe escaping is the best idea.”
- “I just don’t know how much longer I can take this isolation.”
This is the mission field to which The Dawson McAllister Association has been called. And as a long-standing accredited member of the ECFA, we’ve been effectively ministering to troubled teens for over 40 years.
And during this crisis, we’ve joined with friends like you to reach, rescue, and restore 13- to-29-year-olds from every type of crisis imaginable through the power of God’s unfailing love:
- Suicide,
- Abuse,
- Addiction,
- Loneliness,
- Fear,
- Self-mutilation,
- And so much more.
As friends like you stand with us, we will continue our work of rescuing young people from suicide and ministering hope through Christ.
These are young people like Emma. Her life was hell on earth....
Bullied so badly, she’d changed schools three times — and still suffered flashbacks from previous incidents. At home: Screaming and cursing. Violent fights with her mother and her brother. Maximum-dosage meds for her anxiety.
Night after night, in her despair, Emma took a knife in hand and cut herself. She struggled to keep from ending it all.
But there is a God, and He loved Emma too much to let her go. By His grace, He brought her to our online ministry, TheHopeLine, which is full of resources, e-books, blogs, and perhaps most importantly, fully trained and deeply dedicated HopeCoaches ready to help.
Our HopeCoach listened to Emma, asked gentle questions, offered comfort and hope ... and led her to faith in a Friend called Jesus.
The veil of despair was lifted. “I am thankful for the life you gave me!” Emma prayed.
But because there are so many young people like Emma still in desperate need — still at risk of self-harm or suicide — still in need of the Savior — I’m asking for your kindhearted support today.
Any gift you can give right now will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to the $122,000 total of the Save Our Teens & Young Adults Matching Challenge. Because of the match, $57 will provide TheHopeLine for a half hour, $114 will provide for one hour … $228 will provide for two hours!
Your donation will go twice as far to reach 13- to 29-year-olds via
- Internet radio,
- podcasts,
- TheHopeLine resources,
- our “Prayer Show,”
- our online video page and “Ask Dawson” section,
- and much more.
We’ve got to reach more of them, before it’s too late. And we can, with your valued help.
- In the last year alone, we’ve had 3,470,793 young people in crisis visit our website ... During one-on-one live chats, 1,325 suicide interventions took place, and 2,458 faith conversations happened.
- Together, we’re making a difference by God’s transforming power!
Thank you in advance for what you can do today. May God bless you for sharing Jesus with young people! Dawson McAllister P.S. 47,000 suicides and 1.4 million suicide attempts happen every year in America. Suicide is the number 2 killer of teens! And this number will likely increase as the pandemic wears on — Your contribution today will help save lives. |
