DisasterAssistance.gov is the official website devoted to helping disaster survivors. It's a portal to help survivors locate more than 70 forms of assistance across 17 federal agencies via the internet using their desktop computer, tablet or mobile device. Using prescreening technology, DisasterAssistance.gov offers an anonymous questionnaire that generates a personalized list of assistance a survivor can apply for based on the answers. The site also provides other disaster-related information and resources to help before, during and after a disaster.
Redesigned FEMA.gov Launches
DisasterAssistance.gov is one of FEMA's three websites along with FEMA.gov and Ready.gov. Over the past two years FEMA's main website has been visited over 80 million times, making it one of FEMA's most important communication tools. FEMA has officially launched a fully redesigned FEMA.gov that is easy to navigate, focused on the user and accessible by all.
The redesign was an opportunity to start fresh. They've upgraded their systems and fully implemented the U.S. Web Design System for greater accessibility and mobile-friendly user experiences. Thousands of pages were rewritten in plain language and the information was reorganized to make it easier for people to find what they are looking for.
The new site features a more direct link to DisasterAssistance.gov, which provides additional information about disasters, and the assistance that is available to survivors from FEMA and its partners.

FEMA's Ready Campaign promotes National Preparedness Month each September to encourage individual, family and community disaster and emergency planning. The 2020 theme is "Disasters Don't Wait. Make Your Plan Today."
This year the theme and national Public Service Advertisement, done in coordination with the Ad Council, will follow the 2019 animation series stressing family preparedness efforts. This year's campaign will also focus on personal preparedness during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Weekly themes and graphics for September will also be released later this month.
Earlier this year, the Ready Campaign and the Ad Council used those same animation concepts to create a series of animated videos and graphics to slow the spread of COVID-19. Videos such as "Plan Ahead for How to Deal with Disasters During Coronavirus," "Stay Home," and "Evacuate During Coronavirus" are all available at Ready.gov. The full videos can also be downloaded in broadcast quality from the Ad Council website.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Small Business Administration (SBA), a key partner to DisasterAssistance.gov, has been busy making Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) available to the public. Now SBA's loan spending is available online for full transparency. On USASpending.gov the SBA's Disaster Loan program has a profile page with specifics around monies spent on the program. The EIDLs associated with COVID-19 are not specifically labeled but will be most of the activity from the end of March through July 15, 2020.
