AAPLOG 2021 First Regional Hippocratic Oath Gathering If you are a medical professional who participates in women's health care, we invite you to join us for the first Regional Hippocratic Oath Gathering on February 27.  This hybrid in-person and virtual event will allow us to get to know other physicians in our region who also practice according to the Hippocratic Oath. In person seating is limited due to COVID.  Register here.  AAPLOG and Representative Doug Lamborn (R-CO) Hold Press Event on Abortion Pill Reversal and the Second Chance At Life Act Last week, AAPLOG hosted a press event alongside Congressman Doug Lamborn to present new research performed by the AAPLOG Mifeprex AER Working Group. The online version of AAPLOG's new research report on APR, titled, "Deaths and Severe Events After the Use of Mifepristone as an Abortifacient From September 2000 to February 2019" was published in the journal, Issues in Law and Medicine and can be accessed here.  If you are a dues paying AAPLOG member, you can access the full article for free here. Congressman Lamborn also presented information on his newest legislation, the Second Chance at Life Act of 2021, a bill to promote Abortion Pill Rescue (APR). A full video of the event will soon be available via AAPLOG's YouTube channel and be featured on social media pages.  State Legislative Activity The New Hampshire State Legislature has proposed HB625, a piece of key legislation prohibiting a healthcare provider from performing an abortion if the gestational age of the fetus is at least 24 weeks unless there is a medical emergency. This common-sense legislation is expected to be met with criticism from physicians in the state as they claim the bill presents an intrusion on medical practice. AAPLOG's Dr. Christina Francis has been asked to offer expert testimony in support of common-sense legislation and will appear at the hearing in front of the New Hampshire State Legislature later this month. If you are interested in appearing to testify during the hearing, we ask that you reach out to AAPLOG leadership.  AAPLOG Releases New Video Featuring Dr. Lori Buzzetti  AAPLOG has released a new video featuring Dr. Lori Buzzetti and her journey to becoming a pro-life obstetrician and gynecologist. Dr. Buzzetti offers a personal anecdote on her early years as a physician, and the personal and moral challenges she faced that led her on her path to becoming a pro-life doctor. We hope that you will share the video and allow other physicians to see Dr. Buzzetti's transformation and commitment to preserving life and serving all of her patients - both born and preborn - within the boundaries of the Hippocratic Oath.  Please find the video on Facebook here. "Unsafe" is a report documenting abortion facility deficiency reports based on FOIAs sent to all 50 states and the federal government. In addition to the data, there are articles on various topics, including one article entitled, "Chemical Abortion is a Poison Pill." A link to the landing page for the report may be found here.  Obianuju Ekiocha: U.S. Funding of Abortion Is Unwanted In African Nations  Biomedical scientist and activist Obianuju Ekiocha released a new video highlighting the rejection of United States funding for abortion in African countries. The video comes in response to the recent actions of the Biden administration to repeal the Mexico City Policy and the consequences African nations now face as funding shifts from maternal care to abortion procedures.
