Rick,
Our team in Iraq has just been sharing about Mustafa and his cousin who converted to Christianity — and are now paying the price for their new faith.
These young men had recently planned a trip to meet with our team in order to be baptized, but could not come as they were being followed and threatened.
This past week, Mustafa's father broke all his fingers and his cousin has been beaten daily.
Mustafa reached out to our team in secret and said, "I know we will be killed, but we wish to be baptized first."
We long to help these young men … offer them stability and security, a place where they can deepen their faith and become more intimate with the Savior they are now risking everything for.
Lord, make a way for them to our Safe House!
When I asked our Field Ministry Team recently what significance our Safe Houses play in the Middle East and North Africa — I was struck by some of their answers:
"It is a matter of life and death. The ability to hide persecuted believers being threatened and attacked is life!" |
"The Safe House is a glimpse of hope for people who have lost everything to follow Jesus." |
"Our Safe House provides a sense of stability which helps them see that Jesus provides and that Christians are one family." |
Yes, Jesus does provide! One of the ways he provides is through us. Together, we are now family to these new believers who have given up everything to follow Christ.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support that enable Help The Persecuted to provide Safe Houses and other critical support to our persecuted brothers and sisters like Mustafa and his cousin.
It is a privilege to stand alongside them with you!
In Christ,
