But for tens of thousands of persecuted Christians, the crisis continues, hope is hard-pressed and ongoing support is critical—especially for the most vulnerable believers. For people like Isaiah, a Christian father of four girls in Burkina Faso, persecution and the pandemic have created a storm of unthinkable challenges. Give Now When Islamic extremists showed up in Isaiah’s small village, he and his family had little choice but to leave. “We knew that refusing to convert to Islam was choosing death,” Isaiah shares. But once he left his home, the pandemic crushed any opportunities he had to provide for his daughters. “As head of my family, it’s painful to see the needs—the children looking at me—and I can’t do anything about it.” They were desperate.
