Dear National Service Community, Moments ago, President Biden released his Fiscal Year 2022 budget request, which includes annual funding appropriations proposed for AmeriCorps. The President has proposed a strong budget for national service and volunteerism, providing AmeriCorps with $1.2 billion, an increase of $89.2 million over the current year enacted budget, to support AmeriCorps and its state and local partners in engaging Americans of all backgrounds in results-driven service to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement. The budget supports implementing strategies to recruit and retain more AmeriCorps members and volunteers from diverse and underserved populations to help answer the challenges of communities, provide service members modest financial stipends for their service, and create stronger paths to employment and economic opportunity. To learn more about the President's request, please read our FY 2022 Congressional Budget Justification on the AmeriCorps.gov budget page. The Fiscal Year 2022 President's budget request will allow AmeriCorps to continue to meet community needs related to the pandemic, advance racial and economic equity, develop active and civically engaged members of society, and help our nation build back better. The President's budget request continues this smart investment in the American people—an investment that solves problems, expands opportunity, strengthens communities, connects us with our neighbors, and unites our nation. Time and time again, we have seen that when our nation invests in national service, we all win. In Service, Mal Coles Acting Chief Executive Officer AmeriCorps |
