AmeriCorps Office of External Affairs May 13, 2021 ICYMI: Celebrating Service in Response to COVID-19 Last week we honored and celebrated AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers for service during the COVID-19 pandemic. AmeriCorps leaders, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Bechara Choucair, M.D., and Representative Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) highlighted the importance of AmeriCorps service every day, but especially during the last year.  As our panel of members and volunteers discussed, through efforts big and small, you helped combat isolation, made sure that individuals had food, helped children and their families with virtual schooling, and helped to get shots into arms once vaccines were available.
