Jackson: Mississippi AG Brief Over 75  amicus briefs have been filed in the Supreme Court case Dobbs v Jackson, which involves a ban on abortions after 15 weeks, including the AAPLOG brief detailing the effects of late term abortions on women.  These briefs address the outdated and spurious claims made in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton that abortion is necessary for women to achieve personal and professional fulfilment and that abortion is physically and psychologically no worse that childbirth.   It is well worth your time to read the briefs to see the wonderful articulation of the defense of human life that has been made since 1973.   It is not clear yet whether the Dobbs case will in fact overturn Roe v. Wade. What is clear is that in the wake of Dobbs, there will be an enormous effort on both the pro-life and pro-choice side directed at the state level.  We need you! Texas Heartbeat law goes into effect  A law prohibiting abortions after the detection of a heartbeat went into effect in Texas on September 1.  The Supreme Court did not comply with a request to immediately enjoin the law, which means that the law currently stands in Texas.
