God Adorns the Land Creation Day 3, Part 2 | | And seeing that it was good, God said: GOD: Let the land bring forth grass and plants and trees bearing fruit with seed to reproduce. And the land brought forth grass, plants, and trees, each with seeds according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning of the third day. –iBIBLE Chapter 1 | | Scripture reference: Genesis 1:11–13 The land, drawn up from the depths of the seas by the voice of God, is now clothed by Him with beautiful plants, grass, and trees. Imagine the deep brown earth springing into green brilliance by the Word of the Lord. Imagine the formless land taking shape with dense forests, green valleys, and sprawling flowered hills! Scientists estimate that today there are more than 60,000 varieties of trees in the entire world, and over 12,000 species of grass. Seed-producing species of plants (Angiosperms) number over 250,000! The variety of creation is so diverse, in fact, that scientists believe that humans have only fully described 10 to 20 percent of the world's species of plants and fungi. There is always something new to discover in this vast, incredible world that God has created. | | There is always something new to discover in this vast, incredible world that God has created. | | Each tree and plant that God created are also self-reproducing, making it possible for life to continue. God constructed creation in a way that it would continue and grow, reproduce, spread, and be able to be managed and stewarded by humans. As we know, these plants and trees would also provide food for the many types of animals that would be created, and eventually humans as well. What an amazing truth that our God "clothes the grass of the field," (Matthew 6:25–34). He has made a world for us to live in that is not only functional in supporting life, but beautiful. | | What an amazing truth that our God "clothes the grass of the field," (Matthew 6:25–34).
